There are 224,000 confirmed Covid deaths in the US.

That’s 2.6% of the US population infected with Covid.

That’s 0.07% of the US population dead from Covid.

8,000,000 people (2.4% of the US population), according to that news article, are facing poverty thanks to the lockdowns. 2.4% of the population facing poverty vs the 0.07% of the US population dead.

People have also died from suicide or from not being able to receive life-saving medical procedures due to hospitals prioritizing Covid patients and delaying or cancelling the appointments. What are the numbers on those, I wonder?

All I did was Google the numbers of the US population and confirmed deaths and infections, and did basic middle school math.

And christians are giving him 500k because leftists decided to trump it up and paint him as a murderer for defending himself. If that didn’t happen, Christians likely wouldn’t have given a flying fuck.

No he didn’t. He lives right across the border of the state. And him driving to get there means nothing, as his role there was to protect property and help people (somehing he did all night before the person who attacked him attacked him for preventing him and his buddies from setting fire to a gas station).

I’m not making shit up, you’re just desperate to villainize anyone and everyone who doesn’t let you be mindlessly violent without consequences.

This is the second NPC I’ve seen recently who thinks Kyle drove a long way without sticking to the “crossed state lines” party line. The other one claimed Kyle came from three states over.

It’s just fucking amazing. 

Specifically with the way many with it vilifies Feminism, LGBT+ inclusion and diversity overall. If there’s even a meager challenge to the status quo, you can be sure so many will be keen to kick up a fuss.

Many will use stock phrases that go along the lines of, “Can we not have XYZ politics in our entertainment?” whenever there’s some statement about what, say, an upcoming show is all about.

As though there’s some sort of unspoken rule about what the media we consume should or should not depict. As though that isn’t advocating for censorship in and of itself.

I would love to discuss how there are indeed pitfall when it comes to hiring based on gender or race specifically. I would love to discuss how focusing on diversity in your work may lead to tunnel vision when it come to storytelling and characterization.

Yet there’s this overwhelming vibe that broadcasts, “This is not up for discussion so shut up and enjoy the escapism.” As though they’d rather bury their heads in the sand.

2.  When people say “can we not have politics in X” its because the politics are neither unbiased, nor subtle.  They are hamfisted attempts by the people in charge to put their own politics into the hobby, to turn the hobby into a medium to push their politics and ideology, rather than to make it about the hobby itself. 

3.  People are telling you to shut up because this conversation has been had and it has been proven time and time again that the injection of social justice into geek hobbies and fandoms kills it.  To the point where we now have a catchphrase for it: “Get Woke, Go Broke”.

You know what issues I have with social justice, beyond what I listed above?  As a lesbian who has played tabletop, who loved Star Wars, loves fantasy and video games and all forms of geek media.

I get pissed off when social justice types barge into a hobby where I was treated as an equal and shitting it up.  They patronize me, they infantalize me.  And they throw my passion for these things because they use women like me as a battering ram to try and get their ideology pushed in, making women and lesbians like myself feel like infiltrators.  Because you have hordes of dyed haired, problem glasses wearing feminists jumping into the hobby, shrieking about how it needs to change and, once they’ve destroyed the hobby, move on like a swarm of locusts.

And WORST of all, we have white knighting dipshits who take their word as gospel and parrot their bullshit.  They erase my presence, saying how noninclusive the hobby is.  They act as if women can’t be tough enough to handle video game banter.  They act like we don’t like sexy women as our avatars.

The reason we’re sick of this shit is because we’ve been lied about, told to shut up and if we fucking refuse we get labeled as racists, sexists or homophobes, despite LOTS of us being part of the LGBT, being women or not white.
