Hey everyone. A kind friend reached out to me and informed me that the youtuber "The Drow Historian", who's known for using a lot of genAI imagery in his videos, is now also using art from artists in the community. There's pieces by @pidgeydraws and me, and neither of us were ever approached or asked for permission by him to use our art.
There's tons of art by other artists in the community. From two videos alone (these: 1. 2.) I gathered these artists:
@imagazhiraga , @the-nothing-maker , @luthierscurse , @epiclad and several others, though they don't have tumblr I think.
this is just unacceptable behaviour, this guy is definitely earning money and cannot even ask the people who breathe life into the community for permission. Some of these artworks used are commissioned pieces as well, by @estellisa and @khaytiefari
so an update to all this, he's made a community post where he's implying that I specifically ruined his career. One singular artist, completely ignoring the fact that that we were many. He hasn't learnt a thing. Now he's putting himself in the victim position it's absolutely pathetic. He blocked us all and deleted our comments and now he's pretending like it was one person who got angry at him. The knowledge that R.A Salvatore himself is disappointed and upset about this dude's behaviour is the cherry on top, he really has no rights to defend himself here

He used my BG3 art alongside 10 other bg3 arts by fans, YouTube got back to me and agreed with the takedown notice.
Streamclouds, do note that his community is starting to point to you as the one individual causing the takedown of his content in the comments on his community post on YT.
