a couple weeks ago this guy posted in the chicago pagan facebook group saying that he’s a djinn and that there’s a portal between here and egypt and only he and one other person had the power to close it and there was going to be a massive sandstorm… like dude, close the fucking portal, why are you even telling us this
I will do anything to be free
Even escape?

My toxic fandom take is that I think that it's awful how much we can talk to creators and get answers from them word of god style. We should be out here in a godless place rooting for scraps of lore in the media like truffle pigs out in the fields
What are some of the unique/memorable Phantom's reactions to "I gave my mind blindly"?
I feel like this overlaps a bit with the “You try my patience” line (a somewhat older comparison video of that scene which you can see here), but off the top of my head, here’s some pretty unique reactions.
Gary Mauer almost slapping Christine:
Stephen R. Buntrock almost going for a stranglehold:
Ian Jon Bourg almost smacking Christine, then having a moment of regret, then backing off on that moment when he sees Raoul:
Thomas Schulze very tenderly lifting Christine’s head and whispering intimately into her ear… while threatening her and her boyfriend:
Flemming Enevold snatching his hand out of Christine’s grip when she tries to appeal to him:
Earl Carpenter had a sudden moment of, “Oh man, what I’m doing is very, very wrong” combined with “crap, is she okay”; subtle acting at its finest:
Marcus Lovett basically collapsing next to Christine:
Geronimo Rauch lifting Christine’s head and actually going for a stranglehold:
Ben Lewis shoving Christine’s head to the side:
Whatever the heck Tim Howar is doing here:
Brad Little taking a very long time to respond, then slowly growling out his line before SUDDENLY SHOUTING. No gif for this, you need video.
Jonathan Roxmouth doing his best impression of a kid throwing a tantrum:
Funny when someone introduces you to something, you get really into it, and then they lose all interest in it. Oh so you’re just going to abandon me at the party you invited me to. Dude you were my ride.
Being critical of your interests is sooooo fun when you have the critic gene & then you sound kind of insane to the average tv watcher when you're like "this is my favorite show, It's Racist" & then you try to clarify what you mean & get that [Speech (legendary) - FAILURE] "the racism is really interesting though"
[Speech (legendary) - SUCCESS] I find the sociopolitical context of pulpy old sci-fi born circa the civil rights movement really fascinating to analyze especially when it was progressive for its time but still reveals the writers' unexamined biases in the subtext
Them: So you're saying its bad and I shouldn't watch it?
Me: I mean depends on your tolerance for this type of racism, but like I said it's my favourite show, it def has some great parts if you're up for it.
Them: Oh so it's not racist.
Me: It absolutely is.
Them: So you're saying racism is ok??
Me: No.
Bask in the glory of my waterbottle (then go to redbubble and get some sweet stickers of your own)

Been talking about this with friends so I present to you, the cursed spectrum of media literacy
reblog if you’ve had an online friendship that’s lasted more than 2 years
remembering how in 8th grade i went school with a pair of twins who would sometimes switch outfits during lunch period.
they didn't switch identities, just outfits. like they'd go to the bathroom and come back wearing each other's shirts. middle schoolers are fascinating creatures
@basic-rat what what WHAT
#in middle school there was a pair of twins who were quite tall and born on 9-11 #so they were called the twin towers #people threw paper airplanes at them
The only reason I was able to read as voraciously as I did growing up was because of mass market paperbacks.
Special hardcover editions are nice or paperbacks with deckle edges and sprayed sides, but the mass market paperback is the pillar of society.

it’s such a weird feeling too…
Don't worry the audience extrapolated it back out. You zip the file and communicate it, they unzip it.
This is the best explanation of the reader's contribution to art I've ever heard.
