He is interested in how they developed this style though, and the time it takes to prefect it.

The most he usually does is run a comb through his hair. It must take a lot of work and dedication to keep up with their hair, makeup, etc. So he's rather marveled at their effort.

On occasion, and when they are bored one night, Clark does ask them to try their makeup skills on.

He can't pull it off at all, and thinks it's pretty funny.

DAISY, DAISY — CAINE X READER

❀ At first, I don’t think Caine would be too enthused about your life. In fact, I think he’d openly oppose you speaking about it. After all, if you remember, you might not want to stay at the digital circus with him anymore—and that is just unacceptable, isn’t it?

❀ However, the more you speak with him about his adventures, complimenting them and giving him suggestions, I think he’d warm up to you. It’s not like he hates humans, far from it.

❀ He does a majority of the things he does because he wants them to stay so badly. He doesn’t want to be a lonely little AI rotting in the void of an empty digital circus tent with only bubble to keep him company.

❀ But Caine is a theatrical little AI at heart. It’s only natural he’d take interest at some point. The more you tell him about your real life—whether that’s in casual conversation or over a dinner in that fancy digital restaurant he has the ability to summon on command—he’d actually be quite inclined to listen.

❀ Think of it as a trade. He learns more about his beloved humans, and your words soon inspire the next few adventures! I wouldn’t put it past Caine to include something he knows his favorite a human would enjoy.

❀ And maybe, if you’re very very lucky—he’ll happily duet with you. He has a voice and is not afraid to show off. Perhaps he can include that in the next adventure too! He’ll force the other digital residents to sit in a theater as the two of you dance and sing merrily on stage with the mannequins as the ensemble.

❀ Overall, I believe he would quite enjoy spending time with someone who has experience on the stage—as long as they don’t use that passion as a reason to escape the circus.

Tumblr is rolling out a new reblog/notes system that completely disregards creators. In their new system, they're taking a twitter-style approach where reblogs will have their own notes that DO NOT contribute to the original post's notes.

Because of this, creators will no longer be able to see an accurate display of likes/reblogs/etc. This is completely altering the way feedback and responses to works are going to be received on this website.

Just imagine coming home from work and finding seven or eight of your neighbors in your driveway surrounding one of their cars while Rocket works on the engine, explaining about the space tech he's installing in it.

sweetheart, yes. thank you for inviting me to imagine this!! he’d be acting so gruffly annoyed by all the questions, but a friend from work would drop you off at home only for you to find him in the driveway or parking lot with his fur mussed, his goggles on, and his chest puffed up proudly while a small crowd of locals cluster around your car. he’d roll his eyes at almost every question asked — but he’d still explain as thoroughly as he knew how (which is not very much, because as much as he understands mechanics and tech instinctively, he’s shit at communication and doesn’t know how he knows half the things he knows). still, it’s enough for the seasoned enthusiasts to get the gist of things — and even the ones who don’t are fascinated anyway.

i say almost every question because even though rocket is a grumpy fuck (at least with everyone but you), he softens right up every time one of the neighbors’ kids tags along with interest in their eyes. it’s the only time he pauses in giving his audience grief. instead, he crosses his arms and pinches his chin gravely, one ear quirked while he treats each little humie-gargoyle’s curiosity like it’s worth every shred of his time and attention. sometimes, if he thinks it’s safe enough and their parents don’t kick up a fuss (rare, given his perception of safety is quite different from most of the adults’), he even shows ‘em how the prototypes work and lets ‘em fuss around with them. after all, rocket can appreciate what it means to be a kinestheticalistic learner.

yeah, he’s a grumpy fuck all right. but he’s a goddamn genius at what he does.

and besides, all the neighbors can see right through him.

Not because he wasn’t behaving — no, he was actually being too well‑behaved. Which, for Gojo, was a threat in itself.

He leaned down, sunglasses pushed into his hair, whispering against your ear, “So this is where Baby You roamed the halls. Cute. I can practically feel the teenage angst.”

You elbowed him lightly. “Please don’t start.”

“Start what?” he asked, already starting.

The reunion was loud, crowded, and full of people who suddenly remembered your name now that you walked in with a man who looked like he stepped out of a magazine photoshoot. Gojo basked in the attention like a cat in a sunbeam.

Then they showed up.

Your old high school bullies — the trio who used to make your life miserable. They approached with that same smug, condescending energy, like time hadn’t aged them a day.

“Oh wow,” one of them said, eyes dragging over you. “Didn’t expect to see you here. You look… different.”

The tone made your stomach twist. Gojo’s head tilted, smile sharpening.

Another chimed in, “Yeah, you used to be so awkward. Guess anyone can glow up if they try hard enough.”

Gojo didn’t even blink. “Awkward? My sweetheart?” He laughed — loud, bright, and absolutely mocking. “You must’ve been blind. Or jealous. Or both.”

They stiffened.

You tugged his sleeve. “Satoru—”

“No, no, let me handle this,” he said, patting your hand like you’re the one who needs calming down.

He stepped forward, towering over them with that deceptively sweet smile that meant danger.

“So,” he said, “you’re the ones who thought picking on my girlfriend was a personality trait.”

One of them scoffed. “Relax. It was high school.”

“Right,” Gojo nodded. “And this is adulthood. Which means I get to be petty.”

You groaned. “Satoru—”

He ignored you completely.

“Tell you what,” he said, clapping his hands once. “Let’s compare life outcomes. You bullied my girlfriend. I get to go home with her. I think we know who won.”

Their faces soured.

“And,” he added, leaning in conspiratorially, “if you ever talk to her like that again, I’ll make sure you trip over absolutely nothing in front of everyone here. Multiple times. I’m very talented.”

You hissed, “You can’t curse people with clumsiness.”

He winked. “Can’t I?”

The bullies muttered something and walked off, thoroughly defeated.

Gojo turned back to you, smug as ever. “See? I was so mature.”

“You threatened them with… gravity.”

“Creative problem-solving,” he corrected.

You sighed, but your smile betrayed you. He slung an arm around your shoulders, pulling you close.

“Hey,” he murmured, softer now, “they don’t get to talk about you like that. Not when I know exactly how amazing you are.”

You leaned into him. “Thank you.”

“Of course,” he said, pressing a kiss to your temple. “Now come on. I wanna see your old locker. I bet it’s tiny. Like you.”

“Satoru!”

He laughed, delighted, dragging you deeper into the reunion like it was his personal playground.

You weren’t nervous until you saw the building.

Then it all came back — the whispers, the snide comments, the way certain people made you feel small for no reason other than they could. You inhaled slowly.

Geto noticed instantly.

His hand brushed yours, thumb stroking the back of your knuckles. “If you want to leave, we leave,” he murmured. “No questions.”

You shook your head. “No. I want to do this.”

He smiled, warm and proud. “Then I’m right beside you.”

Another added, “And who’s this? Your… charity case date?”

You felt your stomach drop.

“Ah,” he said softly, “so you’re the ones.”

They blinked. “The ones what?”

“The ones who thought hurting someone gentle made you powerful.”

The bullies stiffened.

Geto’s voice stayed calm, almost soothing. “I’ve heard a lot about you. And I have to say… I’m disappointed. I expected at least a hint of growth after all these years.”

One scoffed. “Relax. It was high school.”

“High school,” Geto repeated, tilting his head. “Where you made my girlfriend’s life miserable for fun.”

His eyes sharpened — not glowing, not threatening, just aware. Like he was seeing every insecurity they tried to hide.

“You know,” he continued, “I used to think people like you were dangerous. But now?” He gave a soft, pitying smile. “You’re just sad.”

Their faces flushed.

He leaned in slightly, voice dropping to something gentle but unyielding. “If you ever speak to her like that again, I won’t raise my voice. I won’t touch you. I won’t even be rude.” He paused. “I’ll simply make sure you understand exactly how small you’ve always been.”

The bullies stepped back, rattled by how calm he was — how certain.

They muttered something and walked off quickly.

You exhaled shakily. “Suguru…”

He turned to you, expression softening instantly. “Are you alright?”

You nodded. “Thank you.”

He cupped your cheek, thumb brushing lightly. “You don’t owe them anything. Not fear, not forgiveness, not even attention.” His forehead touched yours. “But I’m proud of you for facing them.”

You leaned into him, warmth blooming in your chest.

“Come on,” he murmured, lacing your fingers with his. “Show me where you used to eat lunch. I want to see the places that made you who you are.”

And with him beside you, the building didn’t feel so heavy anymore.

Nanami

You weren’t sure why you were nervous. Maybe it was the building. Maybe it was the memories. Maybe it was the fact that Nanami Kento immaculate suit, gold tie clip, sleeves perfectly pressed looked like he was about to attend a board meeting, not a reunion in a decorated cafeteria.

He noticed your hesitation before you even spoke.

“Are you alright?” he asked, voice low, steady. “We can leave at any time.”

You shook your head. “No. I want to do this. I just… haven’t been back here in a long time.”

Nanami nodded once, accepting your answer without pushing. “Then I’ll stay close.”

Inside, the room buzzed with nostalgia and cheap music. People glanced your way — some impressed, some curious, some whispering because Nanami looked like he had a mortgage, a retirement plan, and the ability to ruin someone’s entire career with a single email.

He stayed beside you, hand resting lightly at your back, posture relaxed but unmistakably protective.

Another added, “And who’s this? Your boss? Your… sugar daddy?”

You felt heat crawl up your neck.

Nanami stepped forward before you could speak.

“No,” he said calmly. “I’m her boyfriend.”

The bullies blinked, thrown off by how composed he was.

Nanami continued, voice even, polite, and somehow sharper than a blade. “And I’d appreciate it if you refrained from speaking to her in that tone.”

One scoffed. “Relax. It was just high school.”

Nanami’s expression didn’t change. “High school is not an excuse for cruelty.” 

They shifted uncomfortably.

He adjusted his glasses — a tiny, precise movement that somehow made the air colder. “I’ve heard enough about your behavior to know it was not harmless teasing. It was targeted. Repeated. And deeply immature.”

The bullies bristled. “You don’t know anything about us.”

Nanami tilted his head slightly. “I know that you’re adults still clinging to the power you had as teenagers. That alone tells me everything.”

Silence.

He didn’t raise his voice. He didn’t insult them. He simply dismantled them with calm truth.

“And,” he added, “if you speak to her disrespectfully again, I will not hesitate to remove us from this conversation. I value her peace far more than your discomfort.”

The bullies muttered something and walked off, thoroughly deflated.

You exhaled slowly. “Kento…”

He turned to you, expression softening instantly. “Are you alright?”

You nodded. “Thank you. You didn’t have to—”

“I did,” he said simply. “You deserved better than what they gave you. And you deserve better now.”

Your chest warmed.

He brushed a stray hair behind your ear, gentle and deliberate. “If at any point you want to leave, tell me. If you want to stay, I’ll stay. This evening is yours.”

You smiled. “Show you where I used to eat lunch?”

He offered his hand. “Lead the way.”

And with Nanami beside you — steady, warm, unshakeable — the building didn’t feel like a place of old wounds anymore. It felt like a place you finally reclaimed.

Toji

You knew bringing Toji was a risk.

Not because he’d embarrass you — no, he’d never do that. But because he had a very specific, very dangerous definition of “standing up for you,” and you weren’t sure your high school reunion was ready for that.

He walked in beside you, hands in his pockets, black shirt stretched across his shoulders, looking like he wandered in from a completely different universe. People stared. Whispered. Tried not to look intimidated and failed miserably.

Toji leaned down, voice low. “Tch. Bunch of weaklings. This where you spent your glory days?”

You snorted. “More like my survival era.”

He gave a small grunt — the kind that meant he was listening, even if he pretended not to care.

You were doing fine until they showed up.

Your old bullies — the ones who used to make your life miserable with snide comments, whispered rumors, and the kind of cruelty that sticks to your ribs even years later. They approached with that same smugness, like time hadn’t humbled them at all.

“Well, look who it is,” one of them said. “Didn’t think you’d show up. You used to be such a loser.”

Toji’s head turned slowly.

Another added, eyes flicking to him, “And who’s this? Your… bodyguard? You finally paying someone to hang out with you?”

A low, amused, dangerous laugh.

He stepped forward, towering over them without even trying. “Bodyguard, huh?” He smirked. “Cute. You think she needs one for people like you?”

The bullies stiffened.

Toji’s eyes narrowed, sharp and assessing. “You’re the ones who used to mess with my girlfriend?”

They exchanged glances. “Relax. It was in high school, the past is in the past.” One of the bullies said.

Toji clicked his tongue. “High school, adulthood — doesn’t matter. Trash is trash.”

Their faces flushed.

He leaned in slightly, voice dropping to something quiet and lethal. “Say something like that again. Go on.” He tilted his head. “Give me a reason.”

You grabbed his arm. “Toji—”

He didn’t take his eyes off them. “What? I’m bein’ nice.”

The bullies muttered something and backed away quickly, practically tripping over themselves to escape.

Toji watched them go, unimpressed. “Pathetic.”

You sighed. “You didn’t have to scare them like that.”

He finally looked at you, expression softening in that subtle way only you ever got to see. “They made you feel small back then.” He shrugged. “I’m just evening the score.”

Your chest warmed. “Thank you.”

He grunted, rubbing the back of his neck like he wasn’t used to being thanked. “Yeah, yeah.”

Then he hooked a finger under your chin, lifting it gently. “Next time someone talks to you like that, you tell me. I’ll handle it.”

You laughed. “You already did.”

“Damn right.” He smirked. “Now show me where you used to hide during lunch when they bullied you, so I can go corner them in that same place.”

“Toji!”

He chuckled, slinging an arm around your shoulders as he guided you deeper into the reunion — like he owned the place, like no one could touch you as long as he was there.

The bullies tried to laugh it off. “Calm down. It was just high school.”

Choso tilted his head, eyes narrowing. “And this is now.”

“No.” Choso blinked once, slow and deliberate. “I’m promising.”

They backed away so fast they nearly tripped over a table.

Choso watched them go, expression unreadable, then turned to you — and everything softened instantly.

“Are you alright?” he asked, voice gentle now.

You nodded, breath shaky. “Yeah. Thank you.”

He stepped closer, brushing a thumb over your cheek. “They don’t deserve to be near you. Not then. Not now.”

Your chest warmed. “You didn’t have to scare them like that.”

“I wasn’t trying to scare them.” He paused. “I was trying to protect you.”

You smiled. “You did.”

He nodded once, satisfied, then took your hand carefully — like it was something precious.

“Show me where you used to sit during lunch,” he murmured. “I want to see the places you survived.”

And with Choso beside you — quiet, steady, unshakeable — the reunion didn’t feel like a place of old wounds anymore.

hey everyone! I’ve been seeing a lot of people asking about how to make text dividers + banners on my feed, thought I would just do a quick tutorial on how I make my stuff!

For context - I don’t have photoshop, and I pretty much had zero experience in anything graphic/web design when I first started making these for my blog. I’ll be using free programs that are all accessible through a web browser, so there is no need for you to download any kind of software to do this!

Dividers: Photopea

photopea is free to use and it has a browser mode so you don’t need to download it to be able to use/edit photos! The only downside is that it won’t save projects after you close your tab. So you’ll need to make sure to download png/jpgs of anything you make in photopea onto your computer (which you’d need to do anyways to insert the banners into a tumblr post) before closing the tab.

1) go to photopea (photopea.com)

2) click File > New

3) Create a new project - for my dividers I usually use 520 px (horizontal) by 5 px (vertical). I also usually title my dividers, so if I need to reuse them (for a series/multiple creations) I can find them in my downloads/writing folder.

4) Pick you color

You should now see a white bar in your workspace. Click on the color picker tool. It’s the icon with two overlapping squares near the bottom of the tool bar on the left side of your screen

I usually just try to choose a color that matches the banner/aesthetic of my banner for the series/writing piece. Click “OK” when you’re happy with the color.

If you want to directly sample a color from a banner, you can use the sample/inkdrop tool in photopea. You can do this by opening your banner image in photopea (I’m using one of my banners as an example).

you can click on any part of your banner using the inkdrop tool (it automatically records it in the color picker tool) to sample that color, then switch back to your divider tab.

6) Fill your divider - go to the Edit Menu (upper left corner) > Fill 

Then fill your divider (I usually use 100% opacity and don’t really mess with the settings)

7) IMPORTANT: DOWNLOAD YOUR DIVIDER AS AN IMAGE (JPG recommended)

This is really important! Since photopea’s free version DOES NOT SAVE projects, make sure to download anything you’ve finished before closing the tab. I recommend downloading in JPG format, as tumblr now resizes png images/messes up the look on desktop for PNGs.

8) Add the banner to you post! 

I usually use the photo post option when using banners (Banner goes in the photo album part of the post, and the caption is my writing)

You can add the banner by clicking the camera button in the draft editor (press enter to create an empty line and you should be able to see it)

And then you’ll have the pretty line/text divider!

let me be honest at first i was like “but… ivy.” then literally two seconds of thinking had me imagining harley + the skottie-young-rocket specifically running around holding hands with oversized weapons (i honestly should’ve doodled rocket with a goddamn bazooka here - that gun is way too modest) and blowing shit up together. plus rocket deserves a love like harley’s and harley deserves someone who treats her like rocket would. geezus christ they’d be an absolute menace to the universe. i love it.

as some of you know i live in the dc area. the last year has been rough and this shutdown has sort of directly and indirectly blown up my life and my communities in a lot of ways. (i mean, if it means people might be able to keep their semi-affordable healthcare, i’m fine with it, and frankly everyone deserves better). but the result is i haven’t been doing a lot of the things i really enjoy through a lack of time/energy/motivation, and that means my writing has been… minimal.

i do plan on finishing all of the pieces i intended for kinktober but uhhhh at a much slower rate (so like… not october lol). cozy november oneshots and borealis stories might also be limited/abbreviated/slow (honestly the monthly forecasts might be nonsensical for the rest of the year). honestly i might just refocus on cicatrix and birdie because they’re comfortable and i know where i’m going with them, and ur girl is tired lol

similarly i do read ALL my asks but i have been slow to respond for… the same reasons tbh. i will do my best to get to all of them because you’re all brilliant galaxy-brain geniuses but my brain is sadly misfiring these days
