sweets emporium, a family-owned sweets business with baked goods, dirty sodas, frozen treats, and seasonal specials. this is my favorite place to be, and the boy behind the counter, jude, has memorized my soda order depending on the day ๐นญ
swan theater, a local cinema that shows new and old movies, takes requests, and hosts movie bingo nights. this is my favorite place to go see an old romcom. my mom took me and arlo to go see romcoms when they came out. arlo liked the setting of the movies, i loved the romance and cheesiness of them. now it's just one of my go 2 spots for a rainy day!
muddy hands, the community art center. they have pottery, painting, acting in the small but mighty theater, and a lot of other art forms. its a big building near town hall, so people are in and out a lot. i took ballet there for most of my life and then some pottery classes with one of my friends.
grove gardens, the large botanical garden with a small aquarium in the middle! this is what's most popular to tourists or school trips, since we have very rare flowers or plant specimens only found on iris grove (and not in this cr.) so dreamy, but a nightmare to those with bad spring allergies. the local bees usually come here to make honey! the honey is also the best tasting honey in the world, trust ๐โโ๏ธ
crocus beach, the town's beach, duh. the water is crystal clear and sooo pretty, even though we aren't a tropical area. the small hilly forest just up the road from the beach is a popular camping spot, and campers find the little grotto and wash up or chill there. this is also where the town hosted my mother's memorial, where we put lanterns in the water and pushed them out to sea. bittersweet memory, but i still love the people who came and cried with me.
