So I've decided to blog about my journey "getting better" or rather learning how to manage my depression and anxiety and be healthier overall. Since I've changed my situation drastically over the last few months (moving out on my own with my boyfriend, getting a super steady job, committing to therapy and trying to improve my diet and exercise) I think now is a good time as any to really commit to being a healthier version of myself. So for now it'll probably be mostly text posts (until I am motivated to clean my apt, there is glitter, thread and fabric everywhere from this mermaid costume I'm making) and maybe some pics of the food I make. As a background: I'm 22. I live in Brooklyn. This is my first time living alone after having a pretty long rough patch of living in places I didn't want to be. I used to get grubhub every single day. Don't let skinniness fool you, I'm super unhealthy. Since I've moved, (this is our 3rd month) I've eaten takeout twice. I'm attempting to learn yoga. I'm not good yet but I'm 10x better than my boyfriend and that's motivating. I got that plant a little while ago. It's adorable but I don't know what it is. I'm terrible with plants but I hope to one day be great with them. And that's all the important stuff.

Non black POC that are anti black as hell. Like why? What are you gaining from being anti black? Does it make you feel good to think that you're better than another group? News flash: Not only are you actually not better but the white people you're trying to impress or be closer to in social status, still look down on you as a dirty fucking hyphen American. So while you sit there and complain that your community issues aren't getting as much attention as issues in the black community and how black people get everything and feel entitled to everything while using AAVE, remember that we are actively working hard for the little that we get and you're the one that's ignorant enough to go after another minority instead of going after the race that is imposing the "lesser" status on you.

Whenever I have my period and I get bloated (for like a week and a half 😩) I always forget that I'm bloated and I'm not getting chunky. This leads me to make the resolution that I'll eat right and go to the gym and then the day after my period leaves and I'm back to my unbloated self, I laugh at my previous resolutions. I can work out when I have kids. 😂

Honestly deep breaths will only work for so long.
