While it may seem like the snout belongs to Kusho. In reality, the snout originally belonged to a 18 year old anthro wolf named: Wymund Thorne, who was a peasant in an ancient medieval village located near outside the ruling kingdom. When he was seventeen and a half, his younger sister: Elsbeth Thorne, contracted the black plague that was spreading like wildfire through their hometown and claimed the life of Wymundās own father, leaving only him, his mother and his sister behind to fend for themselves. The family managed to keep her alive barely through the help of the village doctor, until he too got sick and died, but not before warning that once he did, she wouldnāt see the third sunset. By then, Wymund had made up his mind to save his younger sister at any cost. He had only one real hope at that point and he couldnāt tell anyone about it under fear of being exiled or killed. For years, Wymundās village had long been plagued by rumors of a mysterious witch, a vixen fox who had been run out of the town decades ago, who was said to have placed a curse on it in the form of the black plague to exact revenge. Wymund figured that if she brought the curse to them, she might be willing to remove from a soul that was completely innocent of causing the witchās exile. The same night of the day the village doctor died, Wymund snuck into his sisterās room past his sleeping mother and took Elsbeth in his arms, before carrying her out of the house and walked several miles to a place he knew the witch was hiding at. He found the old cave right where he last remembered it. Buried in the shadows of the tall surrounding mountain, where he had discovered it years ago as a young wolf pup, before being frightened away by the crows of nearby ravens. He knocked on the door and the vixen answered him, appearing suddenly. Now that she was there, he didnāt introduce himself, he didnāt tell her his own trouble, he held up his sister and begged for her unbroken to be returned to her free of illness. The witch, emotionless as ever, invited him in, seeing his feelings were genuine and gave him the chance to save his sister. However, in order for him to do that, he had to sacrifice his own body to the black plague that was attached to Elsbeth. He immediately agreed and the witch used her dark magic to transport the sickness out of Elsbeth and into Wymund. Unfortunately, the combination of the black plagueās strength and the added magic, ended giving the disease sentience and power. After Wymund had taken his now-healed sister home, he began to be consumed by the virus which by now could talk and think resulting in a painful existence for Wymund. Despite its nature as a life-consuming organism, the plague was surprisingly polite to him conversating in his head, though itās likely that it was just manipulation. It offered the wolf a chance at an opportunity to be part of something immortal even after he was gone (which was partially kind of true as, like all the other victims he ended up having his consciousness completely erasedā¦) Wymund, now seeing no other choice agreed, allowing the new plague to completely envelop his form. The next day, the same plague hunted a local female grey coyote villager, assimilating her as well and using her body (everything except the head, which was still a black void with Wymundās snout on it) as her own new anthro form to have more mobility in walking. The newly formed plague went into hiding in another village, remaining out of eyesight, privately choosing the name of an anthro canine warrior from a faraway land called Japan she had only heard of in parchment: Kushoā¦
