WHAT IS THE REMIX EVENT?

The FFXV Remix is an event where you recreate someone else’s FFXV content with your own interpretation. It is an event intended for people who are interested in stretching their creative muscles and playing in someone else’s sandbox. Sign up for this event because you want to create in someone else’s world, not because you want to receive anything. There are no pinch hitters, so there is no guarantee that your work will get remixed, in the end. At the end of the day, the Remix is not a gift exchange. The person assigned to your works does not have to create content you would want to consume. To quote someone back from the early beginnings of the dawn of the remix challenge, “even if you don’t like what’s done to your story, your story is still *yours* and no one can take it from you. Someone else playing with it doesn’t change the original text.”

The remix is for you if:

You want the challenge of being randomly assigned a creator's works to remix.

You're comfortable with random matching.

You meet the minimum number of works required to participate.

Submit your own FFXV works to this event because you want to provide others with the chance to play in your sandbox. Claim prompts in this event if you’re interested in stretching your creative muscles. This is not a gift exchange. There are no matches, no pinch hitters, and no guarantee that your work will get remixed. People who claim a work for Remix Madness do not have to create content the original creator would want to consume. To quote someone back from the early beginnings of the dawn of the remix challenge, “even if you don’t like what’s done to your story, your story is still *yours* and no one can take it from you. I woke up this morning to this comment left on one of my fics

I was half asleep so it took me a bit to realise that this is a scammer.

It seems that scammers have learnt from their obvious tells in the past.

Previously, scammers would leave vague comments from guest accounts before asking if you’d like to commission some art from them.

Now, it seems like they are starting to create AO3 accounts and are feeding either fic or tags into an AI to pump out a summary before offering the commission.

Here’s the scammer’s profile. Note the description (which seems to be the same for every account posting these comments) and the recent join date.

I received another comment this evening for the exact same scam, just a different profile.

This is a reminder! These are scams preying on the desire to have your fic illustrated and will not deliver! They will either take your money and run or give you something AI generated and will not accept any refunds!

Remember to block and report these comments so the abuse team can stop these scammers in their tracks!

Okay so @avianscribe‘s fic Cracked is awesome and chapter 43 had me both dying from secondhand embarrassment and being way to amused at this man’s suffering.

So here ye go, a magical girl Ignis. There’s some discrepancy between the two designs cause reasons. xD

This will be a second part of the event running at the same time as the main one. You can find all details here.

The goals of this addition are:

Allow those who do not meet the main event requirements to still participate.

Allow anyone who would like to see what others would do with their works be involved without needing to create anything themselves.

I am once again begging people to realize that AI checker doesn’t work. it’s never worked. it’s notoriously known to have flagged human-made works as AI and AI-generated works as human-made. and by feeding it people’s works, you are feeding more works to AI, because apparently the machine itself is AI.
