I had a thought recently that I think is canon honestly but I'd love to see that you guys think:
Spoilers for Wano and minor spoilers for the most recent island in the manga iykyk π
Okay so Wano, Luffy dies, Kaido comes down and starts wrecking shit telling everyone he's dead. People with Observation Haki start confirming that they can't hear his "voice" anymore. Nami refuses to believe it, yells at and gets blasted by Kaido, Marco intercepts of course but Nami is still knocked to the ground, crying and calling out for Luffy. (Interestingly in the Anime Nami gets back up and yells at Luffy to "keep [his] promise" and the scenes are cut in such a way that it implies, at least to me, that Nami yelling is part of the trigger that awakens Luffy's devil fruit. It's more ambiguous in the manga so I'm disregarding it for now but it made me squeal irl)
Luffy revives, grabs and beats Kaido, there's a celebration as soon as Luffy recovers from the fight and then they're on their way heading out for the next island. Luffy, Law and Kid get into their little competition and launch off of Wano like a bunch of insane people. Afterwards Nami beats up and literally puts Luffy in a time out cage, yelling at him for scaring her and being reckless/unfit to be captain. Jinbe tries to tell her to go easy on him and also gets yelled at, with such ferocity he comments that he thinks he feels haki, color of the supreme king. Ussop tells Jinbe to leave it be, and never "confront a raging Nami". We're left with an image of Luffy whining and asking to be let out because he's hungry.
Now that we're all caught up, he's my theory:
Nami wasn't that scared of the fall. They've done coop de burst hundreds of times, she's surrounded by a fully healed and healthy crew that she trusts with her life. There's no way she was actually scared or mad enough to react the way she did just because of Luffy falling for Kid's bait.
So why did she react that way? Because he did scare her, very much so, but it was earlier, when he "died" fighting Kaido. Maybe she didn't fully process at the time what happened, maybe she had already been putting off scolding him because of his recovery and the celebration, maybe their relationship isn't at place where she feels comfortable being that honest and vulnerable, but whatever the causation, I think the real reason she reacted like that was because he scared her so bad that she didn't even flinch while facing Kaido and calling him a lying snake, and she hadn't gotten the chanc e to vent that intense emotion at him until a conveniently typical spook happened, letting her safely express it to him without revealing her feelings. Just beautiful shit.
So that's the main theory I have that feels very Oda-coded and if it's not canon I'll eat a bug or something (jk I won't).
The second theory I got from a gamer rant article so take it with a grain of salt but also I do see it having the potential to be part of Oda's overall story especially given a certain someone who's shown up recently.
SPOILERS FOR THE LATEST MANGA CHAPTERS BELOW: up to 1148 so be wary

Anyway, so the article posed the theory that there's going to be a third 'power' like Haki and the devil fruits. I really like this theory because Oda loves to have things come in threes; the monster trio, three new generation supernova stars (Luffy, Law and Kid), the three 'real' emporers (BUGGY DOESN'T COUNT like I love him, don't get me wrong but the real stars are Shanks Luffy and Blackbeard, no contest. No I will not be taking comments lol), the three admirals, three types of haki, Sanji (literal translation from Japanese being something like "3rd Guy"), etc.
We already have devil fruits that represent humanity's dreams, literal fulfillments of wishes. Then there's Haki that is a manifestation of one's will, with 100% certainty, you can make your will a reality. So what's the third power? Well the article points out that there's been multiple references to the power of 'Love'. Oda in an SBS denies that Garp uses Haki to bypass Luffy's rubber skin by saying that his punches are fueled by the power of love.
Sanji and Nami regularly burst into flames via gags, Garp and Nami are able to hit and actually injure Luffy despite his devil fruit. It's a funny gag but also, Sanji does set his feet on fire, Luffy does appear to be taking damage. Jinbe thinks he senses conquerors Haki when Nami is scolding Luffy for scaring her.
Further, we have Scooper Gaban on Elbaf calling himself the Minister of Love. We have him attack St. Sommers who keeps talking about love and all it's myriad forms getting attacked by the 'Minister of Love'. There's also an interesting a point that when Haki was starting to be introduced, we met Rayleigh. Now we've met Scooper Gaban and he's even told Luffy to come find him later. I think we're going to be learning about a new power related to Love that Nami and Sanji are especially skilled in and that let's them hurt and kill the so called immortal God Knights and the 5 Elders. AND that will segue in hints at a Lunami end game that Oda has been cooking since the beginning of the series.
Is the power of Love conquering all corny as fuck? Yes. Would I put it past Oda to take a recurring gag seriously no matter how corny it is? Absolutely not.
Anyway, what do you all think of my theories?
