There, there, now. I know you’re upset. But I think that you are maybe not getting it? Nobody’s saying that non-white kids can’t act like the kids in Homestuck, but. They are coded really, really white. And it’s not because of the way they behave or dress. It’s because their names are all painfully white—which, yeah, there are quite a few people of color who have painfully white names (hey what’s up self).

On the other hand you also write the kids as having a family history in what looks like Ye Olde South, which—um, just. Do I have to say what’s questionable about presuming that Jane and Jake would’ve gotten along fine with their “relatives” back in the day if they weren’t white?
