A lot of "egg" discourse can be improved by making it clear that it's less "you are gravely insulting a cisgender millionaire youtuber John Johnson by assuming being gnc makes him a woman" and more "you're assuming performing femininity is tied to womanhood around a lot of queer/trans/gnc people who have their own experiences with these things".

I know I already made a post to this effect but it's so baffling to me when someone defends the fact that headphone jacks are slowly but surely getting phased out by smartphone manufacturers with some variations of "wireless headphones are more convenient anyway" bc like. If we're talking about convenience what I like about wired headphones is that they conveniently have a single plug that makes the same damn pair of headphones universally compatible with every single audio-output-capable device I own, from my phone and my computer to my fucking gameboy and my casette player, it doesn't get any more convenient than that.

Okay but I'm getting approximately 10 billion terrible AI old man pretty lady ads for "eighty percent of people were born in the wrong place" and "your energy belongs in X location" and I cannot for the life of me comprehend who could possibly be benefitting from this. Countries seeking additional labor? Travel agencies??? I'm so numb to the grifts I've stopped asking why

If your system doesn't account for the fact that Parents Are Going To Be Abusive/Neglectful/Insufficient then it objectively sucks I'm sorry I don't make the rules

Monitored bank accounts for those under 18. Requiring parental consent for medical procedures. Parental controls on personal devices. "We won't teach this at school because parents are supposed to address it at home." Anything that puts all of the child's power onto the parents' hand, anything that assumes parents are going to inherently do enough of a good job no one else needs to interfer, every single one of these IS going to be used by controlling, neglectful or unprepared parents and already are, and if the system did not account for that very real, tangible, dangerous tendency, then it's not worth fucking anything. You shouldn't make things "for the youth"/with children in mind if you are going to overlook this painfully common aspect of their lives u_u

there's a common belief that artists know how to make art. this is untrue. i've yet to meet a single artist who has any idea what they're doing
