Now that I’ve turned 20 I’m only just realising how true this is. Trying to navigate being an adult and the responsibilities that come with that but at the same still wondering if I’m allowed to have fun. Cause I am only 20, and if losing who I am means gaining the respect of others, I’m not sure whether gaining the respect of others is my top priority. This kind of pressure you have at this age where on one side people are telling you “take risks - you’re only young” and the other side is saying “you’re an adult now, it’s time to grow up” truly does become so formative. But I think if you don’t play it by your rules, you’ll lose the game completely.
