من أعظم النِّعم التي يمنُّ الله بها على العبد…

أن يُصلح قلبه، فلا يشغله بالناس، بل يشغله بنفسه وإصلاحها.

فالمشغول بأخبار الناس، وزلّاتهم، وعيوبهم،

يُضيّع عمره فيما لا ينفع،

وينسى عيوب نفسه التي هي أولى بالإصلاح.

وكلما انشغل الإنسان بمحاسبة نفسه،

قلَّ انشغاله بعيوب غيره،

وزاد قربه من ربِّه، وسَلِم قلبه من الحسد والغيبة وسوء الظن.

فاشتغل بنفسك قبل أن تنشغل بغيرك،

وأصلح سريرتك قبل أن تفتّش عن أخطاء الناس،

فإن أسعد الناس من كان همُّه إصلاح قلبه وعمله.

اللهم لا تجعلنا ممن ضلَّ سعيهم في الحياة الدنيا وهم يحسبون أنهم يُحسنون صنعًا،

واجعلنا من أهل الإخلاص، ومحاسبة النفس، وحُسن العمل.
