"spiderman brand new day has a good plot"
looks inside plot
''there is no righteousness in suffering alone and isolating yourself from everything is never the answer because you'll eventually start to lose sense of who you are as you spiral further into depression and suicidal ideation this is why you need to let people help you and allow yourself to believe in a better future even if it feels impossible at times''
well shit. it does have a good plot
edit: yes i know this is the theme not the plot. i wrote plot, you still get the point. deal with it

âdo not attribute malice to what could easily be incompetenceâ idk a man buying a truck he knows he and his wife canât afford and then telling her to get another job and/or sell her own car sounds like a pretty classic abusive husband move . but hey maybe iâm an ableist asshole for recognizing the power structures at play here
like this is some of the most transparent shit and liberal tumblr users with blogs dedicated to counting down until the end of trumps second term bc they think the end of that will solve anything at all are reading this and saying âdonât attribute malice to what could be incompetenceâ and my mutuals are putting it on my dash. come on. i thought we hated men more than this.

HUH
TIL that the "script" version of Peter Pan (as opposed to Peter and Wendy) is really very explicit that Peter is Not A Living Human Boy.
Weird Peter Moments from Peter Pan (1928)
WENDY. But your mother gets letters? PETER. Donât have a mother. WENDY. Peter! (She leaps out of bed to put her arms round him, but he draws back; he does not know why, but he knows he must draw back.) PETER. You mustnât touch me. WENDY. Why? PETER. No one must ever touch me. WENDY. Why? PETER. I donât know. (He is never touched by any one in the play.)
Mermaid Lagoon:
PETER. They are such cruel creatures, Wendy, that they try to pull boys and girls like you into the water and drown them. WENDY (too guarded by this time to ask what he means precisely by âlike you,â though she is very desirous of knowing). How hateful!
Marooned on the rock after fighting Hook:
PETER. Hook wounded me twice. (He believes it; he is so good at pretend that he feels the pain, his arms hang limp.) I can neither swim nor fly.
PETER. The kite! Why shouldnât it carry you? (He grips the tail and pulls, and the kite responds.) WENDY. Both of us! PETER. It canât lift two. Michael and Curly tried. (She knows very well that if it can lift her it can lift him also, for she has been told by the boys as a deadly secret that one of the queer things about him is that he is no weight at all. But it is a forbidden subject.)
PETER (with a drum beating in his breast as if he were a real boy at last). To die will be an awfully big adventure.
(^Emphasis added, because I know the line is present in every version but I think the Description here is significant.)
The children underground:
The pretend meals are not Wendyâs idea; indeed she was rather startled to find, on arriving, that Peter knew of no other kind, and she is not absolutely certain even now that he does eat the other kind, though no one appears to do it more heartily. He insists that the pretend meals should be partaken of with gusto, and we see his band doing their best to obey orders.
When Tink is poisoned:
(He rises and throws out his arms he knows not to whom, perhaps to the boys and girls of whom he is not one.)
Fight on Hook's ship:
MULLINS (jeering). There is none can save you now, missy. PETER. There is one. MULLINS. Who is that? PETER (casting off the cloak). Peter Pan, the avenger! (He continues standing there to let the effect sink in.) HOOK (throwing out a suggestion). Cleave him to the brisket. (But he has a sinking feeling that this boy has no brisket.)
HOOK. Proud and insolent youth, prepare to meet thy doom. PETER. Dark and sinister man, have at thee. (Some say that he had to ask TOOTLES whether the word was sinister or canister. HOOK or PETER this time! They fall to without another word. PETER is a rare swordsman, and parries with dazzling rapidity, sometimes before the other can make his stroke. HOOK, if not quite so nimble in wrist play, has the advantage of a yard or two in reach, but though they close he cannot give the quietus with his claw, which seems to find nothing to tear at. He does not, especially in the most heated moments, quite see PETER, who to his eyes, now blurred or opened clearly for the first time, is less like a boy than a mote of dust dancing in the sun. By some impalpable stroke HOOKâS sword is whipped from his grasp, and when he stoops to raise it a little foot is on its blade. There is no deep gash on HOOK, but he is suffering torment as from innumerable jags.) BOYS (exulting). Now, Peter, now! (PETER raises the sword by its blade, and with an inclination of the head that is perhaps slightly overdone, presents the hilt to his enemy.) HOOK. âTis some fiend fighting me! Pan, who and what art thou? (The children listen eagerly for the answer, none quite so eagerly as WENDY.) PETER (at a venture). Iâm youth, Iâm joy, Iâm a little bird that has broken out of the egg.
Hook's death:
(Where is PETER? The incredible boy has apparently forgotten the recent doings, and [Pg 145]is sitting on a barrel playing upon his pipes. This may surprise others but does not surprise HOOK. Lifting a blunderbuss he strikes forlornly not at the boy but at the barrel, which is hurled across the deck. PETER remains sitting in the air still playing upon his pipes. At this sight the great heart of HOOK breaks. That not wholly unheroic figure climbs the bulwarks murmuring âFloreat Etona,â and prostrates himself into the water, where the crocodile is waiting for him open-mouthed. HOOK knows the purpose of this yawning cavity, but after what he has gone through he enters it like one greeting a friend. The curtain rises to show PETER a very Napoleon on his ship. It must not rise again lest we see him on the poop in HOOKâS hat and cigars, and with a small iron claw.)
Back in London:
WENDY looks out at the nursery window and sees a friend below, who is hovering in the air knocking off tall hats with his feet. The wearers donât see him. They are too old. You canât see PETER if you are old. They think he is a draught at the corner.)
MRS. DARLING (from the window). Peter, where are you? Let me adopt you too. (She is the loveliest age for a woman, but too old to see PETER clearly.)
PETER (passionately). I donât want to go to school and learn solemn things. No one is going to catch me, lady, and make me a man. I want always to be a little boy and to have fun. (So perhaps he thinks, but it is only his greatest pretend.)
The final scene in this version is Peter and Wendy in Never Land a year later, when she's leaving after her spring-cleaning visit.
Wendy looks a little older, but Peter is just the same. She is cloaked for a journey, and a sad confession must be made about her; she flies so badly now that she has to use a broomstick.
WENDY. If another little girlâif one younger than I amââ (She canât go on.) Oh, Peter, how I wish I could take you up and squdge you! (He draws back.) Yes, I know. (She gets astride her broomstick.) Home! (It carries her from him over the tree-tops. In a sort of way he understands what she means by âYes, I know,â but in most sorts of ways he doesnât. It has something to do with the riddle of his being. If he could get the hang of the thing his cry might become [Pg 162]âTo live would be an awfully big adventure!â but he can never quite get the hang of it, and so no one is as gay as he. With rapturous face he produces his pipes, and the Never birds and the fairies gather closer till the roof of the little house is so thick with his admirers that some of them fall down the chimney. He plays on and on till we wake up.)
In conclusion: this boy may or may not be dead, but he is certainly not alive.
(A lot of his general weirdness is present in the novel as well, of course, but he seems... a lot less corporeal in this take.)
i have seen this post on my dash 7 times now and every time i think more loudly, 'this is what Batman villain The Penguin's dialogue sounds like when they let him be fun to watch.'
"The sculpture in the image is âDas Schicksalâ (Fate), created in 1905 by Hugo Lederer. The sculpture portrays fate as a ruthless woman dragging two vulnerable bodies by their hair.
The work is currently located in Ohlsdorf Cemetery in Hamburg, Germany."

i never really got it when people made posts about light pollution and seeing all the stars for the first time and crying. i always assumed that everyone has gone on a road trip to a bortle 1.0 place and seen stars like that, and it's fantastic, but not like life changing. and then i went to europe last month and was in a mountaintop village of like 300 people and could see about 5 stars in the sky. like fewer than i can see from my home in a big metropolitan city.
my apologies to the non-africans, i did not realise how fucked your sky is
the thing that makes me mad about light pollution is that so much of it could be fixed by downward-facing light fixtures and doing that would also massively reduce energy usage bc all that light cast upward is wasted energy
at least now we know why he has yet to return when Britain is in peril
We need a flick where King Arthur wakes in modern Jamaica and is very confused.
I think that would be so much funny. He wakes up on a remote beach in Jamaica and he only speaks/understands Brythonic and Medieval Latin. Locals assume he was a tourist who fell from a cruise ship or received a head injury and floated away from a resort. The authorities cannot match his description to any missing persons reports and his fingerprints and DNA produce no hits on INTERPOL. They suspect he may be Welsh or French because the language he speaks resembles Welsh or Breton but France and the UK both state he is not a citizen of their country. Stateless and deeply confused, he is taken in by the community near the beach where he was found, being cared for by a number of local families and doing odd jobs. He slowly learns English and adjusts to the contemporary world, uncertain if his belief that he is the legendary King Arthur was formed by whatever traumatic event caused him to end up Jamaica or if he is actually King Arthur and Prydain is in eminent peril. Mysterious letters from Morgan begin to reaffirm his belief he is King Arthur. He must choose between staying in Jamaica and continuing the happy life he has made for himself or finding a way to get back to Britain without any documentation.
ancient king white boy stuns locals by ordering in perfect Jamaican Patois
He gets to Britain and everyone expects him to sound like a posh noble Englishman because that is the picture Malory painted but he prefers to speak Welsh and when he has to speak English, he speaks with a thick Jamaican accent.
also the way he pulls britain out of said peril really pisses off the right wingers, at least in part because he recognises that he cannot do it alone and chooses those he trusts (his jamaican community) as his knights
Absolutely, Guinevere is the Jamaican nurse who took him in in this universe and many of his friends in the Jamaican community that took him in are analogous with/reincarnations of common characters from Arthurian mythology. Except for Merlin. Who is the original Merlin. Who is living a retiree lifestyle in The Bahamas for plot and wizard foresight reasons.
Unrelated side note, I love slipping in an occasional Prydain in place of Britain just to remind everyone King Arthur was not English. The landmass is Ynys Prydein to him. âď¸
