City Between Characters meeting Tuyo Characters: some thoughts
Pet and Ryo would get along like a house on fire. There's some culture clash but Ryo's super good at navigating culture clash by now! (And her attitudes toward hospitality and her own house are more Ugaro than Lau.) Her various magical abilities are unnerving but he can see and respect her deep goodness. Pet is likewise vibing with him immediately. (They also have lots to talk about regarding what to do when People Commit Crimes Against You But It's Complicated.)
Pet and Aras: Well, Aras would love her, obviously. I think she would also understand Aras very clearly, very quickly, and then he would be faced with another person giving him trust and sympathy. :P
Athelas and Aras... I think initially there's a lot of mutual wariness. If they get to know each other better, they're mutually appalled by each other's existence. (Although Aras would also be very willing to help Athelas with some of his Problems! But I do not think Athelas would want that.)
Athelas and Ryo: Ryo would have Many Many Thoughts about Athelas. The first ones would probably be oh he's weird and I think he's dangerous? Meanwhile Athelas is... wary but still reflexively mentoring and/or poking at him, because Young Person In Athelas' Vicinity! Also Ryo reminds him of Zero.
Zero and Aras: Somewhat stiff and wary, because they're both People In Power and they take that seriously, but I think they would respect each other. Maybe not a close friendship there.
Zero and Ryo: I suspect Ryo would have to Very Politely remind Zero to take him more seriously once or twice, but after that things would go well!
JinYeong and Ryo: Quick mutual understanding there in a different way than Pet and Ryo. JinYeong is pretty easy to fit in Ryo's frameworks for young warriors, even if he is 70-something. JinYeong appropriately judges Ryo's danger levels and his likelihood of actually being dangerous, and only pokes at him a little bit.
JinYeong and Aras: ...okay, you know, I think Aras would be delighted by JinYeong. He's cheerful and straightforward and very comfortable in himself, and the his violent qualities remind Aras of Ryo. Fun to have around! And I think JinYeong is Mostly Chill around Aras, though probably a little guarded and not bothering to hide that.
BONUS: Lord Sero
Aras: <deep sigh> Ryo, I think I'm gonna have to kill this guy. Ryo: Let me try to kill him first.

I.... what?
I was too flabber & gasted to check the ingredient list in the store so I went to the website and:
what?
the ending of PHM is not bittersweet and you can’t convince me otherwise
Ryo's first spoken words in Tuyo establish
He speaks darau
He knows enough of Lau customs to know they have a different age of majority
He WANTS to be accepted as tuyo
He assumes this strange Lau lord has enough sense of honor to be worried about people's judgment for taking a child as tribute
...He's not afraid to tell people what they should honorably do, regardless of power differentials
Have currently read seven books of the Tuyo series by Rachel Neumeier and the characters are currently rock-tumbling in my brain a little.
Do you know this Musical Song? #366

The last chapter.

Divine Office things I have been learning recently:
Like the Mass, there are several different valid forms of the Divine Office, also called the Liturgy of the Hours; also like the Mass, the valid forms within the Roman Rite are roughly divided into the one formalized after the Council of Trent, others that had already been in use for at least 200 years before then (mostly belonging to religious orders, or local forms), and the one instituted after the Second Vatican Council.
Concerning the older forms:
If you want to pray the traditional form of the Divine Office, https://www.divinumofficium.com has the Hours for every day according several of the different historical forms, with full Latin side-by-side with the vernacular of your choice.
If you want to chant the traditional Office, https://www.breviariumgregorianum.com has all the Hours for every day according to the Roman Office (Tridentine form) with full chant notation of every part and accompanying music (not words, just notes). Their one downside is that they don't fully translate the Office, but the Psalms have an included translation that, again, comes with a lot of language options.
There are also several religious orders that stream their liturgies! https://barrouxchant.com/ is the only one I remember offhand, but I know it is a Thing That Is Done.
If you want physical books, Clear Creek Abbey not only has a good selection of the big, expensive books for the Roman Office and the Benedictine Office, they also have small booklets holding just morning and evening prayer (Prime and Compline), AND they have a comparison chart for all their offerings.
Paraclete Press also has a lot of physical books for the Divine Office, particularly in the realm of chant books.
Current resources for the newer form (shorter list because I know less about this and also because New Resources Are Coming):
https://divineoffice.org/ gives all the daily readings and prayers for the modern Liturgy of the Hours in English, as well is spoken recordings.
IBreviary also provides everything you need in app form.
NEWS for the newer form:
The Liturgy of the Hours, Second Edition is in the process of coming out in the United States. This is a new authorized translation of the modern Office - the first, as far as I can tell, since Vatican II. The psalms and canticles are a new translation I don't know much about (but my impression is they're good), other scriptural elements are from the NABRE, and the rest of the Divine Office has been newly translated by the International Commission for English in the Liturgy (the same people who gave us the new translation of the Mass in English 15 years ago - very promising!). It's getting rolled out over the next couple years - clergy will be allowed to use it next Ash Wednesday, and obligated to use it (instead of the previous edition/translation, I mean) by the start of Advent 2028.
Less concrete so far but also exciting: the Church Music Association of America has been authorized by the USCCB to create a full chant setting for this new edition!! No timeline on that but it's going to happen, which is a GOOD CHANGE for the life of the English-speaking Church. The CMAA is full of scholars who know and love sacred music at its best and particularly are steeped in the history and beauty of the chant.
While the new edition of the Liturgy of the Hours is still being published (on preorder at Ascension Press), the Divine Office Hymnal, holding all the hymns of the new edition in English, is already out there. (I am somewhat sad to realize that it doesn't seem to have the Latin or to have chant notation. But the hymns are set to chant melodies!)
“Do dishes” and “take out trash” both require the use of a spell slot, vs “use phone” is a cantrip, and brother, I am a level one wizard
