thinking about dennis who's oh so sweet, and a little bit of an easy target in the ER. despite his status now as an intern, he still attracts whoever the bullies may be in the incoming med student groups. he keeps quiet and looks meek whenever they scoff at something he says, or when they try and jeer at him by asking how someone barely any smarter than them is allowed to teach new students- shouldn't someone more capable do it, not this little wet blanket of a mouse?
dennis isn't keeping quiet because he can't retort, or because he isn't a hundred times more intelligent than these ms3 or 4s, but because he's got a bigger plan for them. bigger plans for people who are assholes to you are pretty easy to make when your doting, devoted boyfriend is the chief of the ER.
all he had to do was snuggle into robby's chest in bed and pout at him, looking a little sad. robby would be on his guard immediately, ready to grant whatever wish his precious boy had in his mind, whether it be buying him a whole new wardrobe or getting someone fired.
"robby... you know sanders?"
"that new med student, the ginger one?"
"yeah.. he was really upset by me today, kept saying his parents didn't fund his years of studying for him to be put under the stewardship of some... some baby who can't even take charge of a room."
dennis sniffles a little, driving the point home and enjoying how tightly robby was holding him on his lap, cuddling him so close.
"don't worry, baby boy. sanders, was it? yes. okay. don't you worry your pretty head, sweetheart. he won't bother you again."
"thank you daddy... I love you."
satisfied, dennis kisses robby deeply and nuzzles in for a nap. while he sleeps peacefully, robby makes calls and speaks to department heads. sanders will not be returning to the emergency department on his watch. his baby boy took precedence every time in every situation.
