his weight doesn't fluctuate enough for anyone to notice, he never really gains or loses much. he's just pretty miserable most of the time. half on purpose, half out of sheer exhaustion. he's too tired to eat. or he doesn't deserve to eat. and then all of the sudden he's starving, and maybe he doesn't realize how full he is until after, or maybe he realizes halfway through and pushes past it anyways.
