my take is that i think its fun that mol.dova looks like a child even tho he should be the same age as everyone else, without it being "stunting" or anything, because he wants to look like that. specifically. i think he should be judged by his fellow immortals for wanting to look and act like a little kid. also it looks like he probably begins to "age" out of it after the ussr disintegrates, so there's room in there to ask why that finally did it or if it wasn't that, what?

Okay now that I'm not going to bed, I've had time to remember this reply. That was stated by the line "after the ussr disintegrates" and mentioned as a possibility. Do you want to add to this or was this just to like, echo what was already posted?
I mostly said it bc it sounded like you just stated the USSR dissolving as like a timestamp, as if it probably wasn't important to this whole thing. Idk that's just what I was feeling, sorry if I misunderstood. Edit: realized I didn't really elaborate my thought process, so here it is. During and after the USSR collapsed, the economies of the nations and satellite states underwent a lot of changes to the economy, including rapidly liberalizing the nations and switching from a command to a free market. It was called Shock Therapy. After the USSR, Moldova also likely felt disconnected from his more child-like feelings, because he wanted to push a lot of what had happened in the USSR away. This, alongside the massive economic shift and growth, caused him to want to (and begin to) grow up rapidly. At least, this is my headcanon.
If I mentioned it in the post, then it was something I thought was important and relevant.
Thank you for elaborating! For the most part I agree that he could have had a moment of wanting to act and be seen as more adult and responsible after this point. But then the next question is why is this what did it, and relatedly, what about his life up to that point and back through history before the USSR made him want to remain childlike? History didn't start in 1900 and strife wasn't invented by Germany or Russia. I have my own theories on this that I'm working into my writing.
