Still Swinging at 60 Lamborghini Miura, 1966 & Lamborghini Revuelto, 2026. Ferruccio Lamborghini had none of Enzo Ferrari’s misgivings about mid-engined cars. His V12 Miura was designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone and became the world’s first mid/rear-engined supercar, its 3.9 V12 produced 350hp. The Revuelto is their first HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle), combining a 6.5-litre V12 with three electric motors producing 1000hp. In 1966, Lamborghini was a fledgling car maker (established in 1963), owned and controlled by founder Ferruccio Lamborghini. It is now part of the Volkswagen Group.

Pontiac Firebird Firehawk, 2002. A special edition of the Firebird that was produced by Street Legal Performance (SLP) Engineering in collaboration with Pontiac. The Firehawk package offered Corvette-level performance at a lower price point, so the Ram Air SL1 5.7-litre V8 was tuned to produce 345hp. The hood scoops were functional, feeding cool air to the engine. It was also available with a Level II Bilstein Sport Suspension package and four-piston Brembo brakes. Only 25 3rd-generation Firebird Firehawks were produced before the fourth-generation model (shown) was produced from 1993 to 2002.
