BTW, my vague blogging goes like this:
I tell the true story and nothing but the truth to the council.
I then vague blog the nutshell of what I said in the most vague way possible.
In case you need a recipe.
Sometimes it's witchy spirit bullshit.
Sometimes it's human error.
@asksecularwitch It begins...I haven't made peach cobbler in years, and then I had to wait a bit longer for these to ripen, but I'm finally blanching the skins off some nice fresh peaches today!
Probably going to be more of a crumble, I didn't do the traditional cobbler biscuit/dumpling-like topping, but if it turns out good I'm gonna have a really interesting recipe to share for how I did the crumbles. I'm very hopeful :D
Ooooooh she's sloppy, this is gonna be so good...might bake for longer even, I feel like more time with the convection fan would be good to cook some of that juice down.

Next time youāre watching any news show or political coverage see how many of these you can spot:
Quick rundown of each propaganda technique:
⢠Glittering Generalities: Using vague, emotionally appealing words (like āfreedomā or ājusticeā) that sound good but lack specific meaning.
⢠Transfer: Associating a person, idea, or product with something already respected or disliked (like using a flag, religion, or celebrity image) to carry over those feelings.
⢠Name-Calling: Attaching negative labels to an opponent or idea to create fear or distrust without real evidence.
⢠Card-Stacking: Presenting only positive information for one side and leaving out or distorting the negatives.
⢠Testimonial: Having a famous or respected person endorse an idea, product, or cause.
⢠Plain Folks: Presenting the speaker as an āordinaryā person to seem relatable and trustworthy.
⢠Band Wagon: Urging people to follow the crowd with the idea that āeveryone else is doing it.ā
I like this because it's purely educational and not accusatory at all.
They just tell you what to watch out for without attaching any shame to it.
I know people don't like having the blindingly obvious suggested to them but the following do have to regularly be said to people I know so:
Have you tried turning it off and then on again?
Is it plugged in properly?
What does the manual say?
You can probably Google that
Have you eaten?
I know you remember making the food but did you actually eat it?
Well do it sitting down then
You're probably having a reaction to one of the ingredients, read the label and see if there's anything in there that you recognise
Okay did you actually tell him that? With your mouth? Using words?
The painkillers only work if you take them
Cool had has self-flagellating actually made this work before or?
Yeah okay you 'must remember to' but you remember to NOW so do it NOW
Put it in your fucking calendar
Do you want me to show you how to set up reminders
So use BOTH hands then
... the suggestions of the blindingly obvious will continue until people demonstrate consistently that they don't need it.
did you take your fucking meds
Speaking as a former teacher, people have a way of ignoring the obvious answers, because they're obvious. The mind has a way of going, "a problem this big can't be that simple, there's gotta be more to it."
Which is to say,
did you drink water lately?
i think a lot of people internalized the misogynistic idea that āmen are rational and women are emotionalā and just went āthatās true⦠but itās a good thing!ā instead of saying āthatās obviously bullshit and we shouldnāt perpetuate this belief in any formā
Some of the most emotionally unregulated people in my life have been men. Being an irrational jackass has no gender.
And the most annoying thing to deal with is someone acting from a place of pure emotion who's completely convinced they're the "rational" one.

ābut shrouded black figures are scary!ā not when ur muslim. its the funniest fucking thing. this is labeled on pinterest under shit like āclassic horrorā āscary phone wallpaperā
but that LITERALLY just looks like a niqabi or someone in a jilbab. Like Look at this pic of me (from a self photoshoot, now w/o the dramatic lighting and dark background)
or this pic of me
or this pic of me
like its so funny i canāt be scared of shrouded figures it just looks like me.
if i saw this i would just be like āAssalam alaikum sister, dope sword you got thereā
I mean I think a part of the āscary backgroundā bit is the thing where the individual in question is staring directly at the viewer from a foggy pond in a dense forest. And also the literal burning halo
sounds like a normal Friday night. if a sister wants to go on a walk in the evening who am i to stop her. if she has a burning halo thatās the will of god.
go my qiflings
nimble, a border collie-papillon mix, wins the 12ā class in the 2024 masters agility championship. the first time a mixed breed has won at westminster ever.
context explaining why the announcer is screaming, this is supposed to take a high level competitive agility dog 40 seconds
This video makes me cry every time itās on my dash and I canāt even iterate why.
Like the dog doesnāt even know itās a competition and sheās made history. She(?) just is happy and knows she made her owner happy too.
The face of a being with only a wind storm between their ears, moments before unleashing it unto the world
always a pleasure to see this girl on my dashboard

contrary to popular belief not everyone has an innate sense of internal gender or care to have one or seek a name for it, some people go their whole lives without questioning their occupation in one of two gender roles, but for some people, if pressed, they donāt feel that internal sense of āi am a womanā or āi am a manā, and in that case i feel the switch over to transgender vs cisgender relies on active identification of a gender other than the one they were assigned. if someoneās like āidk dude I just work hereā then thatās valid
#i would describe my gender as not exactly āidk dude i just work hereā #more likeā¦..when someone assumes you work somewhere that you donāt #but you know how to help them so you do it anyway #my gender is wearing a red shirt at a target
These are the best tags
A portion of people in the notes are like ābut that makes you trans. Thatās called being agenderā and another portion of people are going āthis is how the majority of cis ppl feel and itās NOT agenderā and personally I feel like both of them are missing the point here. Yes a lot of people identify as agender because of this feeling. Yes a lot of people with this same feeling still identify as cis. These are not mutually exclusive experiences and it doesnāt mean the agender people are secretly cis or the cis people are secretly agender. It just means they have very similar experiences of gender that they choose to conceptualize and label differently, and neither of them are mistaken or wrong to do so.
To answer the tag questions, I tend to define spiritual as someone who is looking for corrective or structured guidance to answer not just a specific philosophical question set (who am i? where am I going? what is life purpose?) very inward internally focused questions but also who is on the cusp of making a new religion based on those question sets. It's why I don't like defining my practice as a spiritual practice.
I'm not looking for answers. I'm setting expectations and following through with magical enforcement.
I am happy to explore philosophy and morality, but I am not changing my personal goals through witchcraft, if that makes sense. Now some people define spiritual as "working with spirits" - which I don't particularly care for because it overly simplifies the word spiritual and takes a run for it with regard to kind lead into atheism. I hate to mention that this is a thing that pops up a lot in discussions between what is secular and what is religious. It's somewhat a calling card of a specific kind of atheist who looks down their nose at anything that seems "religious-y" so spirits, gods, etc are all "religious" in their definition because that's how they have been considering them because they tend to have grown up in christianity where those things are very common. They don't associate spirit in terms of the spirit of a location. They associate spirits with "the other" or "the other world" or something not of this particular domain when you get into it.
So it runs into the problem of what is a spirit, and how does it interact, and under what conditions, which is why I fucking hate this definition because it presumes much and is basically a "gotcha" lead in question which assumes anything in the realm of non-human = religious. But there are plenty of religions surrounding literal humans (and no, I don't mean Jesus christ. I'm thinking of the religion of Lady Gaga which I ran into a while back with someone's pagan and witchcraft practice focusing heavily on Lady Gaga, and they must be having a field day and I hope they are doing awesome!). Because the assumption is the presuming that their definition of what a spirit is is universal and most importantly, that it matters. Your definition of a spirit does not matter to me. Ultimately what matters to me is how I have experienced something and how the thing I have experienced defines itself. It's why I don't refer to some things I have experienced as gods and some things I have as gods. I can't just be holding a self-deterministic label - I also respect the labels I am provided.
So that's why I hate when people define spiritual as "working with spirits" - because I feel it is a misalignment. And frankly, that it's stupid. It's a stupid way to end a stupid argument that wasn't genuine in the first place. Now it could just be years of experience, and open to a genuine discussion if we're not out here trying to prove that the only form of "true secularism" is atheism. Because boy do I have some news.
