but i'm also still pretty sick, and i have a day job now, so running 2-3 comics in parallel isn't gonna be possible for a while. to be honest, i'm not sure i can handle a regular update schedule for one of them, but if i can i do want to start drawing again. so i'm curious:

KFC or robotchara would likely still be in colored-sketch form, and i might have to ignore asks for a couple updates while i remember what i was doing

CoL would probably have to move to a digital format - still black & white with hatching, but done fully digitally instead of scanning my sketchbook like i had been. (i don't have a good place for working on traditional art right now, and i gave my good scanner to a friend a while ago)

so i have thumb tendonitis, and i finally had my first physical therapy appointment a couple days ago!  i’m not sure it’s ever gonna be 100% better, but i’ve got some KT tape on it rn and i’ve learned some stretches that i think are helping (which imo is really good for a first appointment).  i’m not gonna try to put a timeframe on recovery, since my health is so unpredictable in general (and last time i tried to put a timeframe on this injury i was quite wrong) but i’m hopeful!

the second half of last year was really touch-and-go with my wrist crapping out, and it’s probably still gonna be like that for a while, but this has become a serious new years tradition for me - a chance to experiment and show off the progress i’ve made throughout the year

when i drew the first iteration of this image in 2016, it was the first time i’d ever drawn something i didn’t hate.  that was my senior year of high school, possibly the worst year of my entire life, and it gave me hope of something i thought i’d given up on: drawing my own webcomics

i still have a lot to learn, but i’m finally at a place where i’m consistently, genuinely proud of a lot of my art, and idk… that represents something to me.  hope is a major theme of undertale, especially relating to chara, and it’s also the main thing i’ve gotten out of this fandom.  i’m making comics, for real, right now, and i can do that because of this game, and because of this community

and because, in my high school art class sketchbook, i drew a picture of two video game characters and decided my art was good enough
