Today is a total solar eclipse passing over the US state I live in, the last time a total solar eclipse had this path of totality was 1878. The next 1 is in 20 years because solar cycles. How do solar eclipses affect gems considering that well, light deprivation is the closest thing gems have to starvation?

I appreciate the concern, but it don't last nearly long enough to harm a Gem like me. It's kinda like taking a break between bites of uhhhh-- what's it called- a sandywhich!
