This fine vessel took three years of prayer, four months of sailing and $1 AUD to arrive here in #newcastle this last Saturday. In a couple more months this #Ruach will be sailing to the coasts of Papua New Guinea to bring medical relief to those in the area. I am beyond proud to be apart of this YWAM base. Watching the ship sail in was unreal... On a side note, this also marks the end of our first month of outreach. Tamworth-- it's been real. Mexico-- here we come! Post election and it feels weird not being home, processing the outcome of this year's presidential election with my family. I know my initial reaction right now is to be angry, bitter, and disappointed, but even now, half way across the world I can't help but to love my country. Not for the flaws or the myriad of things that we can argue are wrong with the country, but because of its people and their grace. I see Americans everywhere choosing hope, choosing love over hate, and choosing to be positive. In the words of MLK, "We have before us the glorious opportunity to inject a new dimension of love into the veins of our civilization." More than ever I see others articulating an atmosphere of hope rather than giving into fear for the future. I think that's a beautiful thing. ✌🏽️✌🏽️✌🏽️ Side note, for those wondering what the heck I'm doing with my life, I'm still stuck in the land down under. 🇦🇺☺️ It's entering the summer season here so that means 90 degree weather and lotsa sunscreen 🙃🙃🙃. To sum up my experience of YWAM so far it would be this: God really does see me, and he speaks to me and those around me. It feels like I'm going through open heart surgery right now trying to sort through past hurt, but I've never felt more alive. 🌺🌺🌺
