I’m not going to be nice about this anymore, If you view Zim / the irken invaders as adults, do not follow me. I will likely block you on sight anyway but I’m throwing this out there. That specific interpretation of them makes me highly uncomfortable for a variety of reasons. Do not send asks/replies trying to debate with me (even if civil) on Irken age discourse, as I will delete them. I do not have the energy to argue about a piece of media that is almost 30 years old. I firmly believe that Zim and Dib are the same/around the same age, same with Tak and Gaz and no one can change that.
Not to mention as a ZaDr/TaGr shipper (I view Zim/Tak etc as a child and they are always the same or around the same age as Dib/Gaz in my works). My current / main fandom is Invader Zim !!! (especially the ZaDr / TaGr side of it). :3 I also like other nicktoons (I.E: Spongebob, Jimmy Neutron, Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom etc) and other animated shows, especially ones from the 90s-2010s. I used to be in the H2O:JAW fandom but lost interest (I still like the show).
I also used to be in the 0ctonauts (only typing it that way so it doesn’t appear in that shows tag). fandom but I’m not in it anymore because I not only lost interest but I have a bit of negative association with it. I still like the show and some of the characters and I still reblog stuff about it from time to time and sometimes still read fanfic about it but I don’t consider myself apart of the fandom anymore. I may come back to it one day but I don’t want to get back into it at the moment.
I am also an animation enthusiast in general and it has been an interest of mine since childhood. I also love physical media and have a decent sized cd collection and some DVDs and VHS tapes.also a lover of marine biology and other types of science.

Real. Even Mr Vasquez himself has called Zim a child these ppl cant be serious. Like on page 21 of the show bible or in this 2015 interview from when the comics came out. (Which I was able to find thanks to a link on an 2010s iz tumblr blog and internet archive).
He’s also called a “kid alien” in an issue of Disney Adventures (i think that was it) magazine from when the show first came out. Somebody needs to teach these kids and people research skills.
Spencer probably isn't seen as a 'true' preppie because he's adopted and his adopted dad is just a nurse and not a doctor, or at least not making as much money as a doctor would

ok but legitimately i think the reason why kids aren’t taking internet safety seriously is because the people who are telling us not to put our personal information out seem so out of touch. no one acknowledges the possibility of meeting very real teenaged friends online, they always say that everyone you meet is a 40 year old white man in disguise. because they aren’t acknowledging things we know are true, it becomes a lot easier to dismiss the rest of what they’re saying as well. internet safety lessons absolutely must keep up with the times and acknowledge the internet’s capacity for good if you want kids to take to heart warnings about its capacity for bad.
1. Have proof they're a teenager first. More than just a picture, have a video call with them.
2. If you want to meet up with them, have your parents or a trusted adult come with you. Even if they are a proven teenager, its still good to have supervision in case any issues happen.
3. If you are talking to an adult, and they start being sexual in any way, you run the fuck away. It doesn't matter if they're 40 or 20. An adult inherently has a power dynamic that teenagers do not. And its up to the adult to act responsible about it. There's exceptions of course, if you're 16 and dating an 18 year old, that's not a problem, we're not talking about that.
4. Being in a server with adults or ran by adults is not inherently bad. Talking to adults is not inherently a problem, and will likely happen in any number of Discord servers. It is only an issue when they are acting sexual and show predatory behavior.
5. Look out for grooming behavior. It can be difficult, because at first it seems like innocuous behavior, like complimenting or giving gifts. Especially if you feel lonely and have low self esteem. And groomers actively target people like that.
If they start trying to isolate you, talk sexual with you, state they depend on you for emotional needs, blame you for their own actions, try to be secretive about the relationship- Then you need to talk to people you trust, block the perpetrator, and call the police on them.
6. If this does happen to you, remember this: It is not your fault. Even if you didn't listen to a single thing listed here, it is not your fault. It is the fault of the adults who knew better, and didn't care. It's not your fault.

I’ve been seeing the term “media literacy” being thrown around against responses (mostly neutral-negative ones) of the TADC finale and I have to say…do some people know what media literacy actually is?
Media literacy is defined as a communicative ability to use critical thinking, reasoning, evaluation and analysis for a piece of media to understand what possible themes, stories, and ideas its attempting to tell, how it’s done and how that affects the overall narrative/audience.
Media literacy has nothing to do with whether you love or hate the finale. Media literacy has nothing to do with whether you love or hate the direction a character took. It’s about why you may feel that way and being open to different perspectives, analyses, literary criticisms, and understanding the differences between intention vs execution.
Media literacy has nothing to do with “Well, you didn’t like that and I did, so you’re media illiterate”. In fact, that’s the opposite of being media literate. What media literacy actually is an ability to critically think and analyze something in your own way, discuss it reasonably, and drawing out conclusions. If you hated the direction of the ending or characters, you are not media illiterate. If you loved the direction of the ending or characters, you are not media illiterate either. It’s not about blindly loving or hating something. It’s not about getting defensive due to different viewpoints of the finale. It’s not about what your opinions are but why and how you came to them- and discussing with others about it.

Hi everybody. I just wanted to make this post really quick.
I have decided to private all my videos I made related to Octonauts on YouTube. And also my YouTube videos in general.
My reasoning is because… I don’t really like being associated with Octonauts anymore, or Kwazini and a lot of my YouTube videos were related to that. I still like Octonauts and it does still hold a special place in my heart given it was a part of my childhood and early teenhood and a few ships and some of the characters but I still don’t really like being associated with it anymore. Or at least not most of the fan-works I made while in the fandom. It makes me feel embarrassed, especially when people associate me with Kwazini because like I said, i don’t like that ship or paani anymore (sorry paani fans. I just have a negative association). I also cringe at my old art, even my old Invader Zim art. I also just don’t like using YouTube anymore because of the AI stuff. Hence, why i haven’t posted there in a while.
