I like hikaru ga shinda natsu cause it happened to me btw. Not the "my friend died" part, but the "I'm Something using somebody's corpse and I feel so bad because everyone around me thinks I'm this deceased person they love and cherish but this person is dead and all there is left is me" part. I think people forget that the creator of hgsn uses they/them, and imo yoshiki's isn't the only queer story being told. I rarely see the NB/Trans "Hikaru" analysis of the themes in the story, but I often see people talking about the very explicit themes w Yoshiki's sexuality.
And, like... yeah. I'm an aberration of nature and my very existence threatens rites and tradition and normalcy is not an option for me. My nature is one that might kill old conservative religious people just because. But am I so bad? Is normalcy that good? Doesn't it feel pretty good to kill tradition, sometimes?

But Lin Qi e Chu Yang no. They are indeed united by fate and the will of the gods, but you can see through the novel that they actively choose to be together.
Does Chu Yang feel down and think about leaving Lin Qi to protect his life? Lin Qi handcuffs him to the bed
Lin Qi isolates himself for a while to recover and can't talk to Chu Yang about it out of embarrassment? Chu Yang actively showers him with messages and finds out where he is and go there to take care of him
There is an alien who confuses and separete them? Both goes mad crazy and do everything to find each other
