Forgot to post.. tuh. Anyways.. Astro redesign of my.. redesign? Huh.
Nothing changed really, just added a few more details and changed his expression a bit. Thought it'd be cool. Anyways..
His twisted redesign is right below here :D
He ends up being one of the tallest twisteds, but also one of the slowest and one with the smallest vision range. His range? That little spotlight coming from his starry eye. It kind of works like Twisted Brightney's lamp light, but without the blackout-reroll.
He's not really distractable, I'd say, mostly because he loses interest the moment he loses sight of you. He's also just.. not that fast.
He's not meant to be a threat, more so just a bit of a problem...? He does reroll the chance for an ichor leak, and the puddles are much more frequent with him around, the idea being someone will eventually fail a skillcheck. Also I probably wouldn't have the ichor leaks be that unnoticeable on certain maps, maybe there would be more indicators for you in return.
He has the same trait the regular Twisted Astro has by running straight to the machine, no matter how far, except he's much less easy to lead away. If you get out of his red light too quickly, he just continues to the machine, taking a good chunk of progress, if you do.. well, you're more likely than not close enough for him to hit you. Big risk just for some machine progress.
But because he doesn't chase you, I think just being in Astro's proximity grants you the Tired debuff, and in stacks too. Far but close enough to get the debuff gives you Tired 1, a good middle portion gives you Tired 2, and all the way up in his personal space gives you Tired 3 :D
He also wanders around a lot, but makes a lot of those.. weeping planetary star noises that he makes a lot. He isn't a very good twisted to have around if you're trying to listen to more dangerous twisteds, like.. Scraps or uh. Honestly yeah sure why not, some of the commons are quite dangerous too in this AU, I'll find a way to make it work.
Generally a docile Twisted, not really being a bother. You could be right behind him and he wouldn't react, only if you step into the red light. But my whole idea is that some twisteds aren't hostile, and some are much, much more aggressive to balance it all out. Like.. different levels of aggression, I guess, instead of just "I see you/was provoked by you, I attack".
And.. shelly!! She's probably my second favorite main, yuh yuh
As for her twisted.. erm.
oh.. I sure did have some fun. What a poor sight.
Honestly, I never did like how.. well, aggressive she is. I mean it probably makes sense, being forgotten tends to make anyone bitter, but still.
Her core mechanic is that she tries to support you while on a machine, like her ability would, but instead of boosting your extraction.. well, a twisted like her trying to cheer you on would probably confuse you. It goes away after a bit, but I would guess there would have to be something that stops her from being friendly.
So.. if you avoid her, she won't cheer you on as she can't see you, but she'll get upset. It doesn't go down like Twisted Glisten's would, but each time she's ignored or not appreciated (as in, getting off a machine during the boost), she snaps, getting highly aggressive. If she spots you, it's hard to shake her off of you, but looping her/distraction won't work, as she can get frustrated and simply lunge at you/over objects. So like a grabber with Cocoa's capabilities. But hey, most of the time, you won't even have to worry about her snapping, as long as you accept her support!

Technically I do? I was going to wait until I finished drawing the mains and their "twisteds", which I have my own thoughts about, actually.
I have two routes on how I could go with this: A. The twisteds are failed versions of the toons we see today, not the same toons. But that doesn't seem right.
On the other hand, I don't see it as much of an infection either..? Though, I guess the only way it'd make sense is if twisting was an infection scenario. So maybe those that twist are simply the failures, toons that broke from their personas and roles, therefore breaking and twisting, so to speak.
All ideas for now, but I have two of the mains with new twisted designs AND mechanics on top of that. So.. while an AU, yes, it's also sort of just a re-imagining? I'm not sure how I would list it as. But I'll share the drawings in a few hours.

you guys know Rover, right? Of course not, but I'll yap anyways.
Rover's existence is kind of weird, actually? Would a second robot-like toon even be made? Would a it be an astronaut shark robotic thing named.. Rover? Tuh. Anyways, I don't think he was really made to be anyone's companion or whatever, quite the opposite really. He probably didn't even show up all that much in the show to begin with, if I had to guess.
So.. he probably is also a rather new addition because of that? No matter, his usual silent presence doesn't exist in the real world, mostly because he actually is more of a being now rather than just the occasional appearance. He's actually pretty friendly, but doesn't exactly know where he fits in, except..
Well, he doesn't let that stop him from fitting in everywhere. He does everything in his power to help others for the good of it, but also probably just so he seems more approachable. Honestly he might have the problem where he feels too much, to the point he feels attached to people he just meets.
Though, I think a few toons would appreciate a helping pair of hands. Namely Dyle. Mostly because, well, he's in charge of bringing supplies for Gardenview? Sure he has a train to do the transporting, but surely the supplies can't always be easy to carry out. So in comes Rover, taking care of the heavy things and bringing them where they need to go.
Why do I want Rover to fit the role of little delivery boy? Erm. I dunno. You think I think these things through? Well I do!
He's gonna have so many opportunities to check up on his fellow toons now, all with a digital, toothy smile :D I could probably go into more discussion but uh... sleepy so ye
