Naomi Klein was really surprised that the people who were being exploited in sweatshops wore the logos of the companies they manufactured, and then she learnt that consumption is not activism, that these people were organizing against Nike and it didn't matter what their sneakers said, because they were doing something more impactful than curating their wardrobe, they were taking action.

No matter if your tastes are 100% in line with the current progressive value system and you never engage with problematic media. It is still not activism, it does nothing but give you the illusion of having participated in activism, thus rendering you ineffectual. Your problem with "problematic" media comes from purity culture and your desire to be the most righteous of the righteous that only like the right things. It does nothing outside of stroking your ego, achieves nothing. Fiction is important but let's not overstate it, reality is shaped by class struggle, not by what people choose to read or listen to or watch or wear. We are not each other's enemies.

I’m also a spy, and I work for a secret spy club called MI6 in London where I live in a suspiciously expensive flat (that's British for 'apartment'). I’m bisexual (in case you couldn’t tell - I would not blame u for that because I couldn't tell either LMAO) and I wear mostly suspiciously expensive suits. I did not embezzle ten years of interest from 300 million dollars that is not mine and it is rude to ask about that. I also own an omega watch. Today I was wearing a dark blue suit with matching dark blue shirt and a dark blue tie (ppl say I look nice in blue) but not blue shoes because I have big feet and can only get ugly brown shoes in my size. I was at a charity gala to chat up an arms dealer. It was night so there was no sun, which I was very happy about because I prefer to work at night. A lot of preps stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them. But I only did that because it was in-character for my spy alias at the time. I would not have done it otherwise because I am very polite.
