The worst part about Liam Payne dying is that people are posting about âthe switch up is crazyâ
Like no. He was an abuser and made horrible decisions, but nobody wanted him to die. He was getting hate for an INCREDIBLY valid reason, but we all recognized that he needed mental and physical help. He needed to go to rehab. He needed to get away from drugs and alcohol and improve upon himself away from the public. No one wanted him to die.
Weâre not mourning the life of an abuser, we are mourning the part of him that we adored and looked up to for a massive part of our childhood/ teenage years. He was a huge part of how I was introduced to my love of music. And yes, he did horrible things and made horrible decisions and over the last few years has been anything but admirable, but none of us wanted this.
Maya didnât want this. And everyone saying that itâs her fault can actually go burn in hell. She likely already blames herself enough. She likely already wishes she hadnât spoken up about it out of the guilt that she likely feels. You guys commenting all over the socials about how this is her fault and âare you happy now?â Are actually horrible people.
A 7 year old boy just lost his father. A woman just lost her long term boyfriend. Two parents just lost their son. Several young children just lost their uncle. Show some fucking respect. Joking about it and hating on people who had nothing to do with what happened is not doing anything but twist the knife for the people who this has ACTUALLY effected.
feeling grief over someone who shaped part of your childhood / teenage years â excusing his actions.
you can grieve someone and still not like them or agree with their actions. a reminder that two things can be true at once.
Going back and watching the Salem scene from WandaVision, I was struck by a line I hadn't really noticed before; she does say "I cannot control it", and she says it right before her coven blasts her. Every time they were about to blast her, she'd flinch and beg them to stop, and the way she plead with her mother... y'all, she wasn't begging for her life, she was begging for theirs đĽşđđ

OK, so while I wouldâve loved to see Tiana in Descendants: The Rise of Red, sheâs a one of my favorite Disney princesses, I kind of see how it makes more sense not to have her at Merlin Academy. Because like with the other characters, it makes sense because either theyâre attending Merlin Academy before the events of their movies (Maleficent, Hades, Hook, Bridget âQueen of Heartsâ), or theyâre attending Merlin Academy during the events of their movie (Ella), or theyâre attending Merlin Academy after the events of their movie (Aladdin and Jasmine). But with Tiana, we see in the Princess and the Frog movie that sheâs in her like early 20s and itâs kind of implied that she doesnât really believe in magic if Iâm correct. She kind of dismisses the whole wishing star thing at first so I kind of find it weird that she wouldnât believe in magic if she went to a school filled to the brim with magical people, and we canât say that she goes to Merlin Academy after the events the movie because again sheâs in her 20s.
Idk. I know with this movie they pretty much threw a wench in the idea that is is set within the world of the animated movies but I can still see where those movies come into play with these characters and I feel like Tianaâs character doesnât really fit here. Though letâs not let that keep up is from having her appear in future Descendants movies!!!đđ˝đđ˝đđ˝đđ˝
Hey, I know youâve read the book and I wanted to ask if anywhere in it itâs said if Cheshire is Chesterâs ancestor?
I know it doesnât say anywhere that Cheshire is explicitly his dad but it does feel like itâs massively hinted with the fact that he can disappear and reappear and we only know one person in Wonderland that can do that. But I got someone saying that the wiki says heâs his ancestor and I went to the wiki and they have no source for this claim
And just idk it doesnât make sense to me cause I would imagine he would be around Queenâs age, just like an average age adult. And ancestor means that you are older than a grandpa and he CANNOT be older than Caterpillar so I wanted to ask you since youâve actually read the full book
It doesnât confirm that much of a family relation. Itâs most just implied based off of things such as the way he grins, the way he seems to just just disappear and reappear, his name (Chester - Cheshire), and the fact that when he gets punished by the Queen at the end, he gets turned into a cat with a weird grin and disappears in thin air.
WAIT ONE DAMN MINUTE I HAD A THOUGHTâŚâŚ..
Ok Iâve calmed down but what ifffff uliana and hook were like the reason Harry and Uma got together I havenât developed like a backstory to this idea but pls be my guest to make one
Here me out:
Uliana was the first person Bridget had beheaded. Failure to save her and seeing no consequences for royalty blackens their hearts and turns bullies into villains and all of their respective fairytales happen. Fast-forward to the Isle and these once divided people are forced back together. Their friendships have long ended and they donât try to reconcile what was lost. But when Hook sees his son following Uma, heâs nostalgic. He sees Uliana in Uma and just allows it.
Alright, here are some of my thoughts on some of the complaints Iâm hearing about the Rise of Red. Iâm not going to get into the whole Cameron/Carlos debate. I already made a post about that. But some of the things Iâm going to comment on are the âmistreatment of Chloeâ, the non-resolution to the QOH abuse toward Red, and the failed âprankâ plot hole.
First off, with the âmistreatment of Chloe.â Now, Iâve watched the movie three times already. Is it the best movie that's ever been made? No. Is it enjoyable? Yes. Is everyone entitled to their opinions? Also yes. But that doesnât mean some of us canât help but roll our eyes and rub our temples at the sheer annoyance that some people have when it comes to their opinions. Iâve seen folks on this app say that the characters were treating Chloe like garbage because she was âacting like a princess, wanted to follow the rules, blah blah blah.â Now, you can say that, but from what I picked up, that was more of them calling her out and helping her recognize some flaws that she wasnât aware of. Chloe was unaware of certain things due to her upbringing as a royal. It's important to approach these character actions with an open mind, as it allows for a more nuanced understanding of the movie. She really believed that if you were a good person, if you followed the rules, that if you did everything the good, moral, and decent way, then bad things were never gonna happen to you, that you would always come out on top, that good things were gonna come your way. And while that may be true to some extent, it isnât that cut and dry.
Chloe was described from the beginning as a perfectionist, and while being a perfectionist isnât always a bad thing, it can become very annoying very quickly. Trust me, as someone who jumps back and forth from being a perfectionist, I know.
Her meeting her mom in the past, when she was at her lowest, helped her come to that conclusion. Here is someone, Ella, who was living with her cruel stepfamily, being made to live like a servant, but still managed to keep something of a positive and open-minded look at things in life. That is why the scene âGets Your Hands Dirtyâ is one of my favorites from the film cause it offers up the murky sides of things that we are taught when it comes to things that most people deem âgoodâ and âbad.â Not everything is as simple as it seems. Sometimes, you can play things by the book, but it donât result in anything. There are some people who do bad things for the sake of cruelty, but there are people who do bad things for the sake of others. Like they mentioned: Robin Hood. You canât say that breaking the rules and doing something bad is wrong, but look at someone like that and say, âOh, but he was helping others.â See the contradiction there? Chloe unfortunately fell into that with her way of thinking.
Back on the goody-goody things, let's go to the scene in the Tremaine Home. When Chloe accidentally breaks the vase, she says three specific things:
âIt was my fault.â Good, good. Owning up your role in the incident, not letting Ella get the full blame.
â But Iâm very sorryâŚ.â Again, good. Acknowledging you feel remorse for it happening.
â...and it wonât ever happen again.â Now see, that's where she lost me.
She says this as if it makes everything ok. Now granted, sheâs saying this to a woman who most definitely doesnât give a damn if sheâs sorry. But in the overall point, saying youâre sorry only goes so far. Action needs to be behind those words. And Iâm not talking about âIt wonât ever happen again.â Cause it's nice that youâre sorry and you wonât let it happen againâŚbut the vase is still broken. None of what you are saying is gonna fix or replace that. What Chloe should have said was: âIt was my fault. But Iâm very sorry, and it wonât happen again. Iâll gladly pay for it to be fixed or even to get you a new one.â Thatâs wouldâve been better. Again, I know Tremaine wouldnât have given a shit either way but it would have established Chloe as someone who wanted to make up for her mistakes. But instead it came off some goody princess who thinks that a simple apology will solve things and make them better.
And back to the whole rule following thing. Iâm not saying it's wrong to want to follow the rules the entire time, but following the rules doesnât always result in you succeeding or even accomplishing your goal. Take Robin Hood again. Also, there are plenty of examples of heroic tales whether ones from long ago to books/tv shows/movies that portray the protagonist constantly breaking the rules and completing what they set out to do. So I donât know what Chloe is thinking following the rules is going to get her in the situation that she is in now. Just saying. Hell, Iâm pretty sure time traveling is breaking some kind of law of nature or other.
Now onto the âno-resolution for the QOHâs actions toward Red.'' This is gonna be pretty cut and dry. Y'all do realize that by changing the events of the past prevents the Queen from becoming the evil abusive asshole of a mother she is now right? So by that logic, none of the stuff she ever did to Red no longer happens. Red might still remember them (I donât know if she would have any new memories of the current altered timeline) but she canât exactly hold anything against this version of her mother. Hell, I'm pretty sure every bad thing the Queen did has been erased, every one she has ever hurt is probably fine now. So with that being brought up, I have to ask: Why would she have to apologize or be punished for anything that no longer exists? If nothing changed, then yeah by all means there would need to be some kind of resolution, but this is kind of it. That Queen of Hearts is gone, replaced by a much better and kinder version and Red gets what sheâs always wanted and deserved: A mother who is kind and loves her. So if yâall are pissed at that and that the queen didnât suffer any actual punishment then y'all can just go somewhere cause thereâs really no point in arguing. Cause itâs coming off as y'all donât want Red to be happy.
Now onto the âprank.â I will admit that the prank was kind of a weak excuse for a reason for Bridget to become as heartless as she was and the way they stopped the prank from happening was kind of trash, but I lowkey get how the prank would have had an everlasting effect on Bridget. Walk with me here for a second:
Bridget is a person who wants to be friends with everyone and lives her life by the idea that if youâre kind to everyone then it will all pay off in a good way. âYou get more with sugar than salt.â That's one of the big reasons why Uliana hates her so much according to Ella. Because no matter how nasty Uliana is to Bridget, she (Bridget) continues to be nice to her because she wants to be friends with her even though Uli is a terrible person. Now Bridget is, Iâm assuming, a person who is easily bullied as that's the only explanation I can fathom as to why someone as sweet as that who literally gives treats to everyone (FOR FREE) has no other friends than one person. Now let me tell you something, being bullied isnât something that can easily be brushed off. Even those who act like it doesn't phase them can be holding back inside, burying how they really feel deep, deep, deep down. Thereâs no telling what Bridget was feeling on the inside for real. But maybe having Ella helped keep the pain at bay. So imagine youâre at your first dance ever with your best friend who goes off with someone else. Youâre happy for her, no question, but her not being there later on comes back to bite the both of you. Especially if youâre turned into a monster in front of everyone by the person who you tried on multiple occasions to be nice to, give the benefit of the doubt, and tried to be friends with after youâre led to believe that it was paying off with the offer of a sweet treat. And while everyone is pointing and laughing, you canât find your friend. Because sheâs off with someone else and has seemingly left you behind after asking you to come with her to this event. I can see how all the pain and anger that youâve been holding down, trying your hardest to suppress can come to the surface and all that niceness and goodness could go out the window because why bother being that person when itâs become clear that no matter what you do none of these people will ever like you or love you and that you really have no one to trust but yourself?
With that being said, I can see how a âstupidâ prank like that could be the âperfect revengeâ as turning Bridget into a monster on the outside resulted in her becoming a monster on the inside and it ruined the person she was before.
So do I think that that prank was the number one main reason as to why she became a villain today? No. Do I think it was the main catalyst that opened the door for more things to affect her going forward that resulted in her becoming a villain? Absolutely. I 100% believe that that prank was the reason the darkness was able to open up in her. Hell, like I said earlier, I wouldnât be surprised if the monster-turning-prank had an after effect that left some of the monster inside her.đ¤ˇđť
I havenât thought much on the fact that if they VKâs get frozen because of the protection spell on the book they wouldnât be able to pull off the prank plot hole. I can only assume that in the original timeline, they found some kind of way around it, one that possibly maybe involved Ella, but due to the fact that the book is no longer in that timeline, they never get the spell so everything is changed. Iâm not sure.
Again, these are just my thoughts. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just couldnât sit back and hold my tongue for any longer. Iâm gonna come out with something later on how I see the characters from the animated films going to school together low-key makes a little bit of sense.
OK. Iâm going to give my two cents on the whole Carlos/Cameron Boyce tribute in the rise of red film. Now this might ruffle some of yâall feathers but at this point I really donât give a damn, some of yâall are low-key getting on my last nerves and have been ever since they announced that they were doing another descendants film and yâall wanted to bitch and complain about how this was not honoring his memory or legacy or whatever else bullshit yâall wanted to spew. I think how they went about doing it was very respectful and in a good way. Iâve seen people on Tumblr (particularly this one personđ) say that they hated it and they didnât like how they did it and they wish they wouldâve just said that the character was off somewhere else. Listen, there is no right way to do these kinds of things when an actor or actress passes away and whatever projects they were a part of continue on. There is no EASY way to handle those situations. Because no matter what they do, someoneâs gonna find some kind of problem with it. Whether they kill the character off or they recast the character or they say the characters off somewhere else but at the same time that doesnât mean they need to stop doing those projects or anything involving those projects. Take Glee for instance (Cory), Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (Chadwick). As long as they try to be respectful and try to find a way to honor that actor or actress I donât see a problem. And to be quite frank with some of you, the only people whose opinion on this that actually matters is Cameronâs family who pretty much gave their approval for this. So as long as theyâre OK with it, thatâs it. So whatever else shit yâall keep saying that should be stopped and thatâs the end of the discussion. And if you still have problems with it, (and feel free to take the offense) you can take your opinion and go straight to hell

Descendants: The Rise of Red - Carlos De Vil Tribute
Minor D4 rant incoming but I sorry I gotta say it somewhere - why is Uma in this movie? Stuck into a position that makes no sense for her? They seriously expect me to believe she wouldn't be out on the sea 24/7 with her boys experiencing the freedom she rightfully deserved but instead, she's happy to sit behind a desk and look after Auradon's brats all the time? And then just sit there and do nothing while they're all in danger (cause I guess the cool sea magic CGI budget all had to go to Uliyana, who's a complete other can of worms)
How does this make any sense for her character? Yeah sure I get that she's always cared about Isle kids but that doesn't really follow through when neither of our two protags this time are Isle kids? Nor any of the past kids?
Uma honey I'm sorry, you deserve so much better than this movie.
Honestly anon, you hit the nail on the head. Uma should be somewhere with Harry, Gil, and the rest of her crew living out Pirates of the Caribbean, not... whatever this movie thinks it's doing with her.
I love Uma so much but she makes no sense in this role in this movie and it's painful to watch because they have to de-power her so much in order for the protagonists to be necessary in the slightest.
This movie genuinely is the worst thing I've seen them do with her character.
Also somehow it took me until this moment to realize that... no, none of our protagonists are Isle kids at all? Red and Chloe are both princesses, presumably Bridget is a princess too, Ella comes from a wealthy family (unless they're changing that part of her story too), and unless we're retconning how long the Isle existed for, none of the past kids have anything to do with it. So congrats Isle? You officially stopped being important, I guess?
Idk at what point this anon was sent or the answer was made butâŚletâs wait and see the full picture before saying âit doesnât make senseâ?
because Uma was always BIG on childrenâs happiness and well beings, and to me itâs not that far fetched to have Uma being the principal of Auradon Prep, when the school had everything she wanted for kids, a place to live, food, education, simply the environment that encourages you to study and enjoy the school life. Which was the luxury and something youâre supposed to spite in order to avoid looking soft and all.
Uma always wanted to study, she wanted it available for everyone. So to me, if she were given a chance to change the system and make it accessible for kids as the principal, she would accept the position.
Also while I understand the sentiment, the isle being not important is actually a good thing? Because the isle was always âthe problemâ for the trilogy. And now itâs years later(hopefully 10+ years later as OG isle kids have graduated and started new stage of life as adults), the isle just being a part of Auradon and not the place of ex-abused, starved, broken isle kids and criminals, is good. It shows that the isle had changed for better and not staying as âthe problemâ. It shows theyâre doing fine.
Like, we always complained that Descendants only shows few part of Auradon and the isle. Now they expand the lores to the past and outside of Auradon. So why are we still complaining before watching the full movie?
"So why are we still complaining before watching the full movie"
Because the trailers and merch don't look good and people are allowed to think what they want.
Ok have a nice day. My bad for saying it to someone who is not watching new movie anyway
At this point I just roll my eyes at these folks and keep it pushing. They just donât want to enjoy it and only get involved because they have some sort of anger kink so forget them.
Iâd understand the rage and rants if âwhat doesnât make senseâ is never explained in new movies and its materials. But we havenât even watched it yet and the way yâall already started picking it apart all for feeding into your rage. No I canât do this anymore. With all respect and love, I think I should change my way of engaging this fandom.

I'm waiting to watch it to see if things get explained, because of all my confusion and in all honesty, annoyance, I'm curious to see how the movie will go. I think the characters are cute, but the designs just seem like they spent the bulk of the budget on the amazing CGI we see in the trailer.
I'm most excited to see the new villains icl, but I can understand the frustration of seeing people blindly hate it for simply existing.
That being said I think they're very entitled to their negative opinions on the movie, since it has a lot if issues aside from just "its not like the original series". Actually, as far as I've seen that's like the least of people's gripes.
Itâs hard to describe my full thoughts on this since Iâm not fluent in English. But itâs just something reminds me of back when Descendants itself was introduced and how OG villain or Heroes fandom reacted so bad at it. Well, OG fandom, EAH fandom, OUAT fandom. I think.
I donât even know if Iâm frustrated about people not giving new movie a chance to start with, since they do have right to not watching it. I understand that they think new movie will ruin OG series canons(if itâs not already a big mess within the trilogy) and disrespectful to Cam(which I do disagree, D:RoR production has been decently respectful to not naming it D4, and new casts were mostly made of kids who used to watch OG series and some casts even have OG characters stickers on their belongings during the filming, some casts posted a tribute on Cam at 7/6, I see these casts are just excited to join their favorite franchise). Itâs just tiring to witness the same kind of hate and false narrative and informations regards the plot, characters, etc to further pushing âwhy we should not give it a chanceâ or ânew movie is trash and ruin everything has been hereâ.
Just few weeks ago, some part of fandom was freaking out about Reddit fan theory about âyoung Ella stealing Charming from Bridget might be the plot twist on why QoH became a villainâ, which we donât even know about it yet. Still, some part of fandom were, I dare say, very excited to rant on how an another black girl character might be villainized over a white characterâs tragic origin story. Like I stated, it was a fan theory. It reminds me of how Avantika was globally hated on just because of a viral fan casting made it into fake news accounts.
I grew up with descendants. Iâm definitely a part of adulthood now to see the majority of new casts as kids. And I just want to give new movie a chance because I have seen these new casts excitement and it seems genuine to my eyes. For the majority of new casts this is the very first big project theyâve ever been in and also their dream come true. Theyâve already been harassed over doing new movie on all social media theyâve had accounts and theyâve made it clear that theyâve seen the backlash, hate posts, etc. theyâve went through with getting some of clips leaked before the premiere. And by seeing peopleâs reactions on social media and mass boycott campaigns organized by OG fans on X, they wouldnât receive much views and positive feedback. And it makes me sad because despite everything Disney did to make this new movie happening, I donât believe Cam wouldâve approved any of what new casts were getting.
Yes I was upset over Royal Wedding. Yes Iâm still upset that Carlos De Vil was officially dead since Royal Wedding. But do I really want to stay upset, when Booboo said itâs him and other core four castsâ decision to do Royal Wedding, Kenny approved of new movie and sent his blessings, Camâs parents approved of it and supporting China, China stated that sheâs doing it for new casts and her own healing journey with losing Cam. When all who definitely know him better than me are down for it, do I really have right to act like I know better idea about what Cam wouldâve wanted and whatâs respect or disrespect to him? I donât have such a confidence in knowing him better than his own family and friends. Iâm not stupid enough to believe that. I love Cam but donât know him like that.

I see where your coming from. But nobody was excited to hate on the movie because of it villainizing black women, we were disappointed and annoyed. Disney has a long history of doing this, and Descendants does as well, and even if it is a theory I wouldn't be surprised if Uliana or Ella gets blamed for QOH turning evil.
A lot of members of this fandom, myself included, want descendants to stop using the black women in their stories as a way to justify the actions of their white heiroines/villains.
On the cast of RoR getting hate, thats not something I support. They shouldn't be harassed for being in the movie. That being said, it's not the actors that I've seen a lot of people critiquing, but moreso Disney themselves. Are people going after the actors? No doubt about it, it's the internet and unfortunately that happens, but most folks on here just don't wanna see another Mouse Capitalist cash grab thar exist only for money.
Trust me on how Iâve been furious of the franchise villainizing black girls every chances they get. Iâm not a hardcore Uma fan for years for nothing.
What Iâm saying is, rant posts from weeks ago was created based on a fan theory post on Reddit.
If they really make Ella the bad one along with Uliana, I will not surprised. But I do not know about it. You, or whole fandom, do not know about it yet. Still, we have to make whole discourse over if itâs true or not, and if itâs true fuck it and all, for things not happening yet. So weâre fueling our rage over the franchise, over something not happening yet, over few good things actually happening(Brandyâs Cinderella being canon, Brandy and Paolo reprising their role, Cinderella and Charming having a loving family with their son and daughter, etc)? I canât help seeing how ridiculous this is, ranting on something not happening yet. Are we being angry for black girls characters, or are we being angry for possible future âgotcha I know they wouldâ moments? Can we talk about something actually happening and happened? Like Uliana being a villain. And Iâm still holding my tongue because I donât know full context about it yet.
No Iâm not doing it. If yâall have fun then have fun.
Hate on Disney all you want. Hate on who green lit this project. But I just donât get it how yâall criticize the movie thatâs not out yet and nobody knows how things you criticize on turns out.

Ok so I donât know where we are getting the idea that Red has magic but can we cool it just a it? Again we are jumping to the biggest conclusions based off of the most smallest things. This clip of here with the paintbrush?
Iâm most positive this was t her performing magic I think it was just editing done for the clip, nothing to be taken seriously. Like the picture behind her of the QoH literally changed from smiling to frowning so unless yâall think she did that as well.
Then this part from the âRedâ music video.
Yâall... I know we didnât see a lighter or a match, but Iâm pretty sure thatâs just a mistake on the filmmakers part. I donât think she lit the firework with magic. And the fireworks that she was setting off as she was running, I donât think that was magic either. I think that was her just throwing them behind her.
Again we will see on July 12 but for right now I feel like yâall are making her out to be someone with magic just because in Beyond The Isle of the Lost we learned that her mother has magic. If that was the case with Red having magic I think they wouldâve made some kind of mention or reference to that in the book
And I know the books donât exactly follow the movies but I still feel like that would be something that we would at least have some kind of acknowledge over instead of being blindsided come the film.
Iâve seen many posts on here going off of the idea that she has magic and Iâm just like yâall have no proof of this. Why are yâall acting like you automatically know that she has magic and talking about âoh they canât do a single villain without magicâ âwhy she got to have magicâ âApparently they canât be a scary villain unless they have magicâ (regarding the QoH but again, the film could explain that). But still you have no proof. Again, I could be wrong but for right now, letâs wait and see. Jesus ďżź

Ok Iâm starting to get pissed off.
I I donât wanna start nothing, everyoneâs entitled to their own opinion. Because some of you on this god forsaken app are really showing why some people probably need to go to college, or at least need to pay attention in high school, because some of yâall are lacking in critical thinking.
And unfortunately, Iâm talking about some of you in the descendants fandom. Itâs likeâŚhow about you not watch it if youâre not gonna enjoy it? Because right now all youâre doing is ruining the excitement and fun for those of us who are looking forward to the film. Like I get it you donât understand whatâs going on, thereâs possible retcon, you think itâs destroying whatever film came before, blah blah, blah blah blah. Simple answer: Donât watch it then. Jesus fucking Christ. đđ
Like before we start jumping down the rabbit hole, pun intended, of conspiracy theories on what is going to happen in this movie, particularly on what we think is the reason why Bridget becomes evil, letâs wait and see. And letâs not trust things we find on Reddit or wherever the hell it is that yâall found that post saying that the reason why Bridget becomes evil is because Fairy Godmother cast a spell that makes charming fall in love with Cinderella, not Bridget.
Like be so fucking for real. While this might be true, I feel like it might not be. Because so far everyone, including the actors from the original Brandy Cinderella film seem to have a lot of faith in this film and have trust that the writers know what theyâre doing. I feel like they wouldnât have come back for this let alone be excited to do it if they felt like it was gonna be done dirty.
So how about we all calm down and think with our brains for a second? But then again most of you who are hating on this film have been hating on this series since like what, Descendants 2? I really donât take yaâlls opinion for anything other than jack shit at this point so Iâm not even gonna humor you.
Is this rude? Most likely. Do I care that this point? No. Also even if you just watch it to bash it youâre still watching it. Way to really stick to Disney!
