Music headcanons are fun! so here's some: Since Askeladd canonically was born in 969, in a modern setting i like to headcanon him having the eclectic music taste of a gen X born in the late 1960's. I don't imagine him being nitpicky with music since he would be exposed to a lot of genres growing up. Imagine Lydia passing him down her taste for The Beatles and british folk, and then him developing his own taste that ranges from 70's disco and psychedelic to 80's power ballads and some new wave later on. What i'm trying to say with this is that i see him having the Bee Gees, Duran Duran, Shelagh Mcdonald, Jimmi Hendrix, Cat Stevens, Pink Floyd and early Pearl Jam on the same playlist. With Thorfinn, if he's his shitty prologue self, I don't know. Hard to imagine him openly appreciating art and having very defined tastes or even listening to music. His edgelordness would make you assume that he would be into angry, corny nu-metal and screamo or something but i like to think that he would find that loud cornyness annoying too. If he finds some sort of cathasis in music then his emotional constipation makes me think he would take a liking to some sort of moody music like gothic rock or post-punk or something, and he would absolutely sneer at Baldy's music while simultaneously NOT sharing his music tastes with anyone. He would complain but not ask for the aux. Meanwhile, I imagine an older, calmer and kinder Thorfinn having the music taste of a divorced millennial dad, though not limited to it of course, just the kind of sounds he likes the most. Melodic, cheesy post-grunge stuff. My fav music headcanon for adult Thorfinn is him liking stuff like Creed, Nickelback and Breaking Benjamin.

#been musing on the idea of caine being “bratty” and i think it's quite the opposite. he's actually hyper-responsible#canon!caine never had the luxury to be bratty. he was parentified from day one.#he was the one keeping everything functional. he took care of everyone (however terrible he was at it). he handled every crisis.#he may be a goof on the surface but he always took his responsibility seriously and was never just playing around.#...kinda makes caine a lot like ragatha huh.#fawning to survive. feeling responsible for everyone around them. not wanting to turn out like their creators/mother.#i swear i'm normal about them. yeah.
