I also love the shock on Henry's face, the confusion, and the time it takes him to make sense of what just happened, while Hans interprets that as a rejection and goes into full panic mode (probably my favorite part of the scene, honestly, Luke did that SO WELL).

In my mind Henry has stuffed all his feelings for Hans in a 'chivalrous devotion' folder, and he hasn't linked it to anything physical yet.

I have read a few fics where Henry is assumed gay, and I don't hate that concept if written well, but I feel like the game doesn't really support that. We don't know a lot about his relationship with Bianca, but it seems to be a first crush type of love, and he's clearly checking out Theresa in the prologue (Henry, you dog), and I feel like their relationship later on is sweet and honest. I prefer to believe Henry would not string her along.

I do think that Henry changes a lot over the course of the two games and the feelings he has for Hans run deeper, and maybe he experiences this type of love for the first time with Hans. He would likely not identify them as romantic. Judging by his reaction to the Galehaut story, he doesn't understand what Hans is trying to say, because that kind of coded language is not something he knows.

But then the payoff of the rest of the scene is so good, where he leaves and you see the gears turning, and it's HENRY, brave and clever, and probably about to die and he just goes "fuck it, that was kind of nice" and he just goes in 100%, consequences be damned.
