Culinary Perfume Flight @imaginaryauthors x @saltandstraw These three scents smell phenomenal and are all EDIBLE. My current favorite is A Cloud of Cocoa. On my skin it made me smell like a nice cold glass of chocolate milk with a splash of booze. Food wise.. I’ve paired it with sparkling water. They’re made to pair with ice cream but since milk and I are no longer friends I need to find some other things to pair these with. R I C H M E S S by @rich.mess Never have I ever been as mesmerized by a scent as I have been with this one. When I first smelled this scent I got chills. LITERAL CHILLS. I honestly don’t know how to describe how it smells in an elegant way, but I am good at painting a picture with words so here goes… This fragrance smells like the best American Tires I’ve ever been in. It’s sweet, rugged and rich. It smells like the best bad idea you’ve ever had. Like the hot man/woman/human you meet at a dimly lit nightclub. They look like they’ll ruin your life, but you’re still leaving with them. It smells like a long weekend in Vegas. What happens there IS staying there. This fragrance is everything. Notes: Top: Bergamot, Fig, Grapefruit Heart: Saffron, Sandalwood, Vanilla Base: Atlas Cedar, Leather, Spicy Lillies (and possible some chocolate somewhere here). If you can’t tell, I’m obsessed. Dawn Spencer Hurwitz I’ve got nose crush, y’all. Last month during my work trip, I reached out to Dawn to see if my sibling and I could visit her space. She happily obliged and even kept the shop open after hours for us to explore all of her creations… and explore we did! We easily spent over an hour in her studio smelling her products and asking her questions about literally everything under the Sun (how she got into perfumery, how she manages to come up with her scent combinations…). She really is a pioneer! This discovery kit by @ourside.nyc has me S H O O K E D🙌🏾 Ourside is a new BLACK GIRL FOUNDED fragrance house, making scents for all humans. Nostalgia is a sweet and dewy fragrance that almost smells like juiciest piece of tropical fruit I’ve never tasted. Moon Dust is a grounding, almost spicy scent that reminds me of hiking through the California hills as a young kid (or walking up the Stanford dish in the early morning). Dusk is an oh so cozy and comforting scent. This one reminds me of a comforting embrace from a loved one. While they are all beautiful in their own way, I am torn between nostalgia and dusk as my favorites from the line. @houseofsillage x Harry Potter Since it is Harry Potter’s half birthday, this post is only right. This set from House of Sillage is fire. Gryffindor is (the BEST house ever, but that’s besides the point) a warm and fruity floral that dies down into a smooth and comforting base. Hufflepuff is the gourmand scent of your dreams! It’s bright but sweet and creamy. A little salty and a whole vibe. Ravenclaw is clean and refreshing with notes of frozen mint, cardamom and Vetiver. Slytherin is a sweet and green fragrance that dies down to almost a honeyed skin scent.
