The Snow Demon
It’s that time of year again--the quiet slide into winter, when the daylight fades too early and the cold settles into your bones a little deeper each week.
And somewhere between all of that, I’m sitting here fighting with page numbers, margins, bleed lines and PDF exports. There’s nothing glamorous about formatting a paperback. No spark of inspiration, no sense of creation--just the steady click of keys and the realization that I’ve spent twenty minutes adjusting a single paragraph break.
But winter is creeping in, and with it comes The Snow Demon. He’s getting closer every day--in the story and in reality, as the release approaches. Maybe that’s why the air feels colder. Or maybe it’s just me wrestling with Word at 2 a.m.
Either way: the Demon is coming. And I’ll meet him fully armed — with a polished manuscript, a formatted print edition, and a cup of very necessary coffee.

And Once Again My Math Skills Fail Me Again, This Time with The Heathen Calander
I was looking at information on various websites about the Norse Calander, as I'm always trying to make My own personal take on the calander better. Which is easier said than done, as I'm having a bit of trouble matching up month names to the points, as I'm working with a particular method for the Lunisolar version of the Calander. Anyway, I realized I totally failed to account for a thirteenth month while marking the transition from last Lunar year to the start of this Lunar year, and apparently Winternights doesn't start for Me until the Full Moon of the next lunar month.
Last Night, The First Night of Winternights, was a Wild Ride
I've been awake since six this morning, and naturally I'm tired. I'll probably end up taking a nap sometime later today. Last night was the first night of My celebration of Winternights, and it was a bit of a wild ride. I'm still processing the whole thing. Some answers, some more questions, and nothing went anywhere as I had hoped or expected. Not in a bad way, just sideways.
