all i want in life is a canon aro character. please.

i just need. aro character.

wait, scratch that. make it multiple aro characters. a demiro character, greyro, aroace, aropan, aro lesbian. aro demisexual characters, aro straight, aro bi. aros with “"weird”“ sexualities like lith, quoi/wtf, arospike. show us trans and nonbinary aros too.

an aro who doesnt like cuddles or platonic physical affection (touch-averse), and an aro who is a total cuddlebug. an aro in-between.

an aplatonic aro, and an aro happily married to their qpr.

an autistic aro, a depressed aro, an aro with bpd; disabled and mentally ill aros.

aros who are physically disabled.

an aro character making silly faces when there are kiss scenes in movies.

a romance-repulsed aro. also, an aro who likes kissing sometimes (after all, kissing doesnt have to be romantic) a polyamorous aro with multiple qprs. maybe the qprs are in lovey romo love with each other.

old aros and young aros and middle-aged aros. fat aros and skinny aros. aros of color.

kisses can be sexual, romantic, or sensual depending on the person. 

So I had a doctor appointment today for my mental health, and one of the questions my doctor asked was “Are you in a relationship?”

“…Technically.”

“Is it with a boy or a girl?”

He didn’t assume my partner’s gender! It was exciting, and surprising, and so nice to not have to fear accidentally slipping up, especially considering I live in a very conservative area.

I was then asked some more questions, which I then explained my orientation (aromantic asexual) and my relationship (queerplatonic relationship).

My doctor had no idea what a qpr was, but after hearing me talk about it, he and his supervising doctor both said that it sounded like it was a healthy relationship and good for me.

Hey, it’s Pride Month! Here’s a comic I’ve been working on for a while, that I wrote in the wake of figuring out some stuff about being aromantic. Just some thoughts and feelings I have about it, and some silly memories that made me go wow, that makes a lot of sense now.

I hope against hope that they won’t ask you, this time. But barring that, I want you to know that no matter what they say, you’re not selfish. You’re not broken. You’re not ‘denying them great-grandchildren’ or an invitation to a wedding. You don’t need to date someone to be a worthwhile person. You can love and be loved, and you are worthy of the love you receive.

Please know that, this summer, no matter what they say, you are stronger than any criticism they give you.
