whats better than this just guys being dudes
bonus:
Iām about halfway through my first route in Fire Emblem Three Houses. I forced Dimitri to dance and I must say it was the best choice Iāve made so far.
Bonus:
I lowkey want an au where the juniors all travel to the past spiritually (they canāt touch or change anything) and watch WWXās tragic past unfold. Kind of like the yi city arc where WWX watched the past of a-qing.
Ohhh yesss, make it WWX-centric. I want them all crumbling when they realize just what exactly happened to him.Ā
- Make JL highkey fanboy over his cute, younger uncle JC
- Make them incredulousĀ ājuniors.exe stopped workingā when they see how close JC and WWX were (āisā¦is uncle laughingā¦.āĀ āgod what is that thing on sect leader jiangās faceāĀ āohhh is that baby fatāĀ āwha - OI!ā)
- Make them facepalm at all the shit WWX did to LWJ (āare we sure they werenāt really together yetāĀ āhe just gave him an erotic book gooodāĀ ādidā¦.did hanguang-jun just start a fight in the library pavilion?āĀ āitās those bunnies!!āĀ āā¦in the library pavilion?? hanguang-jun???ā)
- Make them be in awe of WWX and his cultivation abilities back when he had a golden core (they never had the chance to see this in the future and then theyād go wondering why he had to resort to demonic cultivation when he was already this amazing)
- LET THEM WITNESS WWX GRABBING LWJāS FOREHEAD RIBBON (*in the background, the lan juniors have fallen*)
- the whole cave incident too! (āfather looked cool defending that maidenāĀ āoh god little mistress stfu weāre having an incident hereāĀ āno need to worry - i know uncle will be back for them asapā *days pass*Ā āWHERE IS UNCLEāĀ āhanguang-jun bit himā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦āĀ āUNCLE THEY NEED YOUāĀ āheā¦.he lent his lapā¦ā¦ā)
- LET THEM EXPERIENCE THE FALL OF LOTUS PIER IN WWXāS EYES AND MAKE THEM CRY LIKE NEVER BEFOREĀ
- LET THEM SEE HOW WWX SACRIFICED HIS GOLDEN CORE AND WITNESS HIS PAIN FROM THEĀ āSURGERYā
- SHOW THEM WWXāS STRUGGLE TO SURVIVE IN THE BURIAL MOUNDS (āwhatās senior wei murmuring?āĀ āhe - heās saying their namesāĀ āwhose??āĀ āheās sayingĀ ājiang chengā andĀ āshijieā over and over againā)
- AND HIS RETURN + LWJās heartbreak on his firstĀ āwei ying, return to gusu with meā (ālan jingyi ffs shut upāĀ ābut i caaaaant waaaaaahhhh my wangxian heartā)Ā
- BASICALLY EVERYTHING UNTIL HIS DEATH AND I WANT THEM SUFFERING AND HURTING FOR THEIR SENIOR WEIĀ
YES
In Which Orome Runs LateĀ and Finweās Family is a Slightly Different Disaster
It is only chance that lets Orome find the elves, and chance can fall in many different directions. He considers riding in the direction of a lake he visited once, many years before, but his quarry leads him elsewhere.
And so the elves live on, unfound.
Feanor is born to Miriel, and she dies not long after. Miriel is the first to die in childbirth, but death itself is not uncommon at Cuivienien. Grief is well known to the elves, and Feanor is not the only one without a mother. He doesnāt quite realize it, but this helps.
No one knows what happens to elves when they die. Finwe hopes Miriel is safe. That she is happy. He knows that he wonāt find out until something befalls him in his turn.
He is still the first to remarry. Elves do not do so lightly. Some whisper that it is a sign that he did not truly love his wife. Others think that perhaps he only wants a helpmate, not love, for raising a brilliant son is hard enough without also bearing the burdens of being chief. Both groups are wrong.
Feanor is the only one who worries about how it will affect Miriel, and that is because he is a child, and he believes the stories his father tells him of his mother watching over him. He does not think she would like to see his father moving on.
But Finwe remarries anyway. He would like to take more time, to try to talk Feanor around, but even for immortals, life seems perilous. Who knows when the hunter might snatch Indis away? Who knows if the next winter will be too harsh and will carry them all away?Ā
He loves Indis, and if something does happen to him, there will be someone to care for Feanor. That consideration weighs just as heavily.
The hunter claims more and more of their people, and the sense of no time weighs ever heavier. They donāt wait as long as they might have to bear a child.
Itās a girl, her name is Findis, and Feanor hates her. He hates the idea that he might be replaced, he hates this proof of his fatherās remarriage, and he also hates the way she cries through the night.
He does not get the opportunity to hate her for long.
Feanor marries Nerdanel. He refuses to go to Aule to learn, but Mahtan has, and Mahtan teaches him in turn. Feanor and Nerdanelās work is highly sought after, and theyāre able to support themselves without touching a penny of Finweās money.
Nerdanel gives birth to a son. His mother-name means beautiful. His father-name means treasured one.
It does not include a āfinwe.ā
Feanor does not, technically, invite Finwe to the naming ceremony. He just sends him a polite, formal letter informing him of it, and leaves just enough time that Finwe could feasibly get there.

What If I Told You...
that your ship not being canon isnāt the sole reason why the ending was terrible?
because, and this is controversial as hell but Iāll say it it anyway:
SasuKarin would be in the same situation as SasuSaku (Sasuke traveling and leaving their kid behind to provide a terrible plot for said kid to obtain the Sharingan)
NaruSaku would be in the same situation as NaruHina (Naruto staying at work and Sakura being cool with it because she has the same blind nationalism as he does)
SasuNaru would be the same as it is now, with literally no progression in their relationship and Narutoās needs meaning more than Sasukeās, because fuck what Sasuke wants.
Try to put any other ship you can think of and my argument still stands. Your favorite ship wonāt make a better ending.
The ending was terrible because of how Konohaās ideals refused to change. We were led to believe since the Zabuza arc that Naruto would bring revolutionary ideas to change the world for the better. His āideas,ā however, solely consisted of befriending people in power so they could work together to be oppressive, not against each other. He never had his beliefs challenged. He was always right. By the end of the series, Konoha is stuck in the same mindset as it always was.
Changing the ships wonāt fix the fact that the Hyuuga practice(d) genetic slavery without being checked. It wonāt fix how the truth about the Uchiha Massacre is still a dirty little secret (the so-called āMatriarchā doesnāt even know about it). It wonāt fix how the small villages and nations have absolutely nothing to do with the alliance between the Five Great Nations, but thatās okay cause they donāt matter. It wonāt fix religious extremists like Jashinists who experiment on people (Hidan) and murder others as sacrifices, and Kishimoto spent so little time on this group that we donāt even know if they did so willingly. It wonāt fix the fact that there is an entire village of Orochimaruās experiments, separated from their loved ones, and still under his control because why punish the guy that kidnaps children for science (Hey, if Danzo approved of it once then it must not be so bad!) It wonāt fix how Karin and people with abilities similar to Karin can be used and abused for the benefit of ninjas yet no word of it is mentioned ever again. It wonāt fix how the entire Land of Eddies was wiped out yet their people were seemingly scattered across the world with no support, even though Konoha ninja flaunt their symbol upon their backs (interestingly, the only living Uzumaki we know about are the ones being kept around for selfish reasons: Nagato being given the Rinnegan to help further Madaraās agenda, Mito, Kushina and Naruto having to become Jinchuuriki with Kushina even saying she didnāt want to do it, Karin and her mother held against their will). It wonāt fix how mental institutions and therapy only need to exist for children, not adults, because according to Sakura the adults that just went through war are totally fine, and her traumatized husband is totally fine.
Ship what you want, I donāt care. But do not act like your ship has the magical ability to fix everything fucked up about the ending. It doesnāt, Kishimoto does. And as weāve all seen, he has no intention of fixing anything.
Are some canon ships actually terrible and would be better off as something else? Yes, they are, I wonāt front. But changing who ends up with who will not address most of the shit I listed above. Iāll say it again incase someone misses my point: SHIP. WHAT. YOU. WANTas longasit'snotabusive But this isnāt a romance manga and was never meant to be one. Your ship being canon isnāt going to do much when the themes of the show mean so much more than that.
(just write fanfiction tbh thatās always great, pure and makes everyone happy)
edit: To quickly add on to this: I said twice that people can ship what they want but I have a feeling someone is going to try and argue why they like their ship to me as if thatās what the post means. It isnāt. Itās not āthese ships are just as badā itās āthese ships will produce the same result for the ending anyway so who cares.ā There are totally some pairings that definitely shouldnāt have happened but getting rid of them wonāt help much with the shitshow that is the Naruto ending in its entirety. Romance was never a focal point of Naruto and Kishimoto never meant it to be.
For the Kakashi x Obito shipper :)

SourceĀ More Facts
Yes this could have to do with the fact that Freya the Norse Goddess of love, beauty and fertility drove a chariot pulled by cats.
So, if I ever get married, I fully expect a catmobile.Ā
One of the other reasons why they gave cats to each other was for their valuable skills as mousers. Cats were able to control rodent populations around their properties.
Also, Norse myths are thought to have the earliest literary descriptions of the Norwegian Forest Cat. They were described as large, strong cats that drew Freyaās chariot and were so heavy that not even Thor, God of Thunder, could lift them from the floor. (Source)
They kinda live up to the legend, too. Your average Norwegian Forest Cat is twenty pounds of solid muscle, with claws large and strong enough to climb solid rock. Theyāve been known to attack bears when defending their territory. And yet theyāre one of the cuddliest breeds out there, particularly noted for being patient with small children.
I have a Norwegian mix, and can attest that she is the cuddliest cat but also insane enough to try and fight a bear.
Viking catsĀ āFIGHT MEā
Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, still could not lift this cat.
@blackkatmagic
maybe this was because it appeared after Naruto pics on my dash, but it did make me think of Madara....

What if the rumor that Sasuke liked girls with long hair was because he once said he WOULD LIKE to have long hair, since it's a sign of strength. Maybe Naruto would be the only one who understood and the two of them had a hair-growing competition at some point after becoming god-tier level strong. "ha ha! i have an extra 3 inches on you bastard!" "you're cheating with the fox aren't you?" They start aiming for hair in spars and Sasuke's knocking back hair skin and nails vitamins to catch up.
xDD
@blackkatmagic honestly that reminded me of the strange headcanon I came up with. Like the reason Hashirama grew out his hair. Madara decided that the bowl cut was not appropriate for his rival and told him - while they were fighting - that as a sign of their bond as eternal rivals, they would grow out their hair.
(When Hashirama sees Gai during the fourth war he is quite pleased... now that Madar and him arenāt really rivals anymore... does that mean he gets to cut his hair? :-))
Fic Idea: Danzoās worst nightmare (or: the Uchiha Hokage)
Danzo is injured during the Kyuubi attack and ends up in coma. Without him around to reinforce the rumors about the Uchiha and his needling Uchiha Fugaku is indited as the Godaime Hokage. Generally, known as āthat stick in the mudā or āUrg, not another lectureā or even worseĀ āhe will set you on fire if you donāt bring your paperwork on timeā and still listed in the Bingo book as āKyogan Fugakuā,Ā he might not be the most popular Hokage, but he is certainly an effective one.
He is not, however, pleased when suddenly anbu start dropping out of the woodwork, asking for orders and being generally more emotionally repressed than even the worst of his own clanmates ever managed. Sage, they are worse than Hyuuga! So he has to clean that mess up to. Yamanaka says expose therapy would be good for them, and they always need good police officers. These at least follow orders, and donāt loose their temper.
(Nor is he pleased with Minatoās screaming spawn. He would have let someone else take care of the child, but Mikoto had her katana in hand, and that look in her eyes. A smart man known when not to argue. So the spawn stays.)
Fugaku never though Madaraās treason would ever be a good thing for their clan. Somehow people belief that the reason they are taking the kid in is to make sure something like the attack never happens again. Well, lets go with that.
Itachi at least proves most helpful, he definitely could have in career as a paperwork ninja, Fugaku swears his seven year old son is more competent than all the other moron in the Hokage tower.
On the matter of Hokage: What kind of Idiot thought it would be a good idea to add the faces on the mountain? And there is no way his frown is that severe, no matter what Mikoto says.
And if the sandaime and his old council want to meddle so much they can make themselves useful in the academy. The curriculum seems to have suffered a lot, and there is children being allowed to be children and there is criminal negligence. Maybe that old battleaxe Utatane will at least manage to get the fangirls under control.
And what does Kumo want?( on that note: if they want a doujutsu why didnāt they go for the obviously superior one?)
"The Uchiha are the descendants of Indra who inherited "the spirit of the Sage" aka the chakra, which according to Ninshu creates the connections between people that promotes understanding." So does that mean to a sensitive/powerful enough sensor, the Uchiha clan feels like a chakra web? And they don't realize other Clans aren't so connected? (not that it changes anything. You should still cherish your family and treat them well, regardless of chakra connections)
Ooo⦠*stares at the shiny idea* YES!!!Ā And this ties in perfectly for theĀ āIzuna succeeds at taking Tobirama hostage before the Hiraishin is completedā AU Iām outlining. Because instinctively the Uchiha would pull back into themselves a bit while in battle so that they donāt get hit as hard by the battlefield deaths, but political-hostage!Tobirama would be in the middle of their compound while the Uchiha were peaceful and happy. So heād be able to see the Uchiha at their most connected and Tobirama probably spends the first week or so of his visit quietly goingĀ āwhat the actual fuckāĀ every three seconds or so.Ā
Because Tobiramaās watching as Izuna sasses Madara without reservation. And Madara always double checks his decisions with the rest of the Clan and if he canāt argue them around he finds a compromise. And the Uchiha children are shameless and constantly poking at things and climbing on the people they like. And after the fourth time Madara walks by with a tiny Uchiha draped around his neck like a scarf Tobirama just sort of gives up on the Uchiha ever making sense. Itās actually a little terrifying to contemplate, how fundamentally different the Senju and the Uchiha Clan are.
Anyway Iām going to be using this idea because itās pretty much exactly what I was thinking of, soĀ thank you kindly for articulating it for me. ^_^
@sanjuno Not to mention, if you go with a lot of the implications @blackkatmagic has picked up and run away with (as can be seen in As the Sea is Marvelous and other fics sheās written), Tobirama would probably be varying shades of jealous and and confused, depending on when this happens in the timeline.
Lot of different ways it could go, depending on what genre it is, too. Angst, humor, horror, mystery, suspense, crack ⦠oooh, canāt wait.Ā Ā *glee*
Yes, hm, this is true. I think⦠this is the Tobirama from justĀ before Izunaās death in canon. So Tobiramaās going to be angry at himself forĀ āfailingā and getting caught by the Uchiha. Heās going to be suspicious about Madaraās, and by extension the entire Uchiha Clanās, intentions.Ā Heās going to beĀ frustrated when the Uchiha refuse to conform to the propaganda that Tobirama has unconsciously internalized. Heās going to try and convince himself its all a lie, because if the Uchiha are basically decent people then Hashiramaās grudge with Tobirama over leading Butsuma to the river was valid. If Madara has seriously set up Tobiramaās capture to be the last requirement for making peace, then Madara had never lied to Hashirama about their shared dream. Which means that the half-truths Tobirama told himself to justify his actions about interfering in the River Friendship arenāt cutting it anymore.
(Speaking of cutting it, I babbled a lot.)
Oh I totally love this possible AU. Itās beautiful. I can also imagine that maybe Hashirama kind of picked up on stuff like that too. Not consciously, and only with Madara, and thatās why he felt so very welcome and the super power of friendship when he was with him. Maybe Ashura had that ability to an degree, and it part of how they are connected. It would also explain than why Hashirama doesnāt have that with other people...
Kagatobi please! Either some really cute fluff with some humour (like .. flailing Kagami and calm, loving Tobirama are my weakness) or maybe a bit of nice smut? Maybe both? Thanks!
im so obsessed with kagatobi right now tbh
Kagatobi, 1.5k
According to Senju Tobirama, there was a solution to everything. There is no such thing as an unsolvable problem, and although his solutions were sometimes practical to the point of coldness and ruthless pragmatism, they were still very much solutions.
Case in point: their current discussion on what to do with genin promotions, an event Tobirama aptly called the Chuunin exams. Tobirama was steadily outlying his assignments for Team Tobirama for the upcoming examination, a three-stage event focused on information gathering, survival, and combat. Usually, Kagami adored listening to Tobirama talk and plan, but he had only just come back from an intense mission and he was dead on his feet.
He had pulled up a chair to sit in front of Tobirama, the Hokage desk in between them. Papers were spread out in between them, detailed plans of each stage of the Chuunin exams and profiles on the genins up for possible promotion.
At first, Kagami was intently focused on Tobiramaās every word but slowly, he felt himself begin to drift off, his head nodding, eyelids heavy. Every blink came slower and slower, Tobiramaās sentences blurring and melding together until finally his head dropped and his shoulders slumped. Asleep on the Hokage desk.
And as what usually happened when one fell asleep, Kagami dreamt.
And of course, as what usually happened when Kagami fell asleep, he dreamt of Tobirama.

[Submission] A Response to Itachi Character Question
Ok, this got longer than I thought, so I apologize for that in advance.
Starting from my personal opinion on his character (I will put two dashed lines in before the character explanation, so feel free to skip to that if this gets too frustrating to read).
Iāve recently reworked my view of Itachi, mostly thanks to your hatred of him, but while trying to keep the feeling of liking him (even from before his time revealed as a āgood guyā there were hints that heād been a good brother).
In the beginning we have Sasuke clearly remembering him fonder than heād like and rejecting it, even if the story never really went into it. And as a supervillain Sasuke was clearly important to Itachi. Sort of outside whatever his other plans were, however? He showed up apparently intending to follow Akatsukiās ideals, and derailed that a little to include his plans for Sasuke when he showed up. Kisame had no problem with it, so itās sort of implied that they, while not necessarily having talked about it, had an understanding about Itachi being able to do what he wanted when it relates to his clan. Though Kisame didnāt know Sasuke was alive, which means either no one ever told him and heās not good at recon (kind of debunked later) or Akatsuki actually doesnāt know that as a whole.
And Itachi clearly wanted Sasuke to hunt him down, rather than stay on the path to friendship he was on. Something that important to him is a sort of fondness, even if itās a really unhealthy sort of fondness. (I was also reading Count Cain at the time, so he fit really well into the ābad sorts of loveā theme of that manga.)
At the point he was revealed to be a āgood guyā Iād already stopped reading the story. I heard about him mostly because the Sasuke fangirls I knew had grown up (a little) and become Itachi and Orlando Bloom fangirls.
But in my mind it made a lot of sense because, from what little I understood, Itachi had an unhealthy dependence on very few people, one of whom was his brother, the other of whom was Shisui. His parents didnāt make this list, he loved them but in an less intense way, which meant to him that that didnāt feel as real. And when his last important person was threatened he reacted without really thinking about it. And then went on to join an organization dedicated to stopping people from getting into the same situation he was in through means not dissimilar to his own.
And by the time he was praised as a hero for-the-good-of-the-village I was already more or less blocked out of the fandom. So no idea how I would have felt about that.

So: Itachiās character as I see it. (And this is based on my own experience and conversations with my sister about differences in emotion and understanding emotions between us, etc)
Itachi is someone with very very high logical leanings. Heās so good at learning and processing new information that he usually gets a lesson the first time it appears to him. Not only that heās skilled at logical improvisation, connecting pieces of data provided to make an assumption to what the right answer would be before the teacher even comes up with this. (Please note that all terms are terms Iām making up on the fly to explain what I mean, they are in no way technical terms).
This is why he did so well in school, and later in ANBU. These are very carefully controlled environments. Information comes in very specific kinds and there is always a right answer, even if itās only the only the teacher/commander wants you to make. But like many easy-A students Itachi is terrible at common sense. He will tell you hundreds of unrelated bullet points and connect it into a treatise on the moral limits of the shinobi world, but when faced with whether or not to kill a child in a logic problem he will go through the shinobi checklist heās memorize and weigh that against whether or not leaving the child alive will cause problems in the future. Even if the child is begging for their life and the last person alive in the whole scenario heāll probably kill them off to be sure. Because thatās what the teachers have taught him to write!
Itāll be well defended, and he will make some mention after the first time about being conflicted because the first teacher asked him if he was in a way that clearly implied he should be. But itās logic, and calculation.
However, Itachi is also emotional to an extreme. Unfortunately heās so logical, so quick with his mind that heās able to detachedly analyze his own emotional state. But unable to do anything about it! I had this problem in middle school, where the logical part of my mind would confusedly watch a breakdown coming, know it was coming, and try to tell a teacher about it once or twice, and then the breakdown would happen and everyone would be confused why I didnāt just calm down if I knew it was coming. Itachi suffers from that sort of emotional stability.
Heās logical and as he gets older his emotions become more predictable, he can even use certain thought processes to trick himself into feeling certain strong emotions. Staying angry when he knows heās expected to be, for instance. Itās an interesting logic problem for him to experiment with, but it also gives him the illusion that heās in control of his own emotions. Heās 13 at most, for goodness sake, not even yet having trouble with hormones.
Iām not sure if youāve ever felt the difference between hot and cold anger, but I can switch between them sometimes, just by willing it. Cold anger is assumed to be more logical than hot, because it doesnāt burn out the ability to think, but itās just as illogical as hot anger, because I can remember that Iām being dumb, but not care enough to calm down. Iād rather stay angry at the person, cold and logically pissed off, rather than calm down. And while it might feel like Iām in control of my emotions, theyāre definitely controlling me at that point.
And Itachi has another problem. Heās the opposite of Kakashi. Kakashi is empathetic, and itās hurt him enough that he tries not to be. But he understands people, and connects with them, even sympathizes with enemies when forced into a situation where it comes up (Zabuza for instance). He loved his father and the village and couldnāt understand that people he loved could hate each other, so he blamed his father for doing something that made his life hard (and regretted it for years). He tried to close himself off but empathised in spite of himself and went to save Rin anyway and ended up missing Obito so badly, and Rin, and even though he was in ANBU he still empathized enough with Yamato to save him from Danzo. And heās friends with Guy because theyāre actually really similar people.
Itachi is the opposite. He canāt love groups of people. He honestly doesnāt understand what that feels like, how someone can love a concept. But he knows heās supposed to. Heās been told by his family that heās supposed to love the clan, and he thinks thatās what it means to admire what they stand for. He fakes it well enough that they praise him for his service to the clan, so he must be doing it right. And he ālovesā the village, because heās supposed to be loyal and dedicated, and he can follow that textbook perfect. But Itachi can only really love individuals, and only very few individuals at that. Heās an introvert who can make polite conversation with anyone who walks by, but isnāt comfortable doing so.
Heās really good at faking it though, so no one ever notices. Not unless he tells them outright, the way he told Shisui, the way he tried to explain it to his mother once. But only Shisui ever understood what he meant, even in part, so he doesnāt bother explaining it to anyone else. Instead heās convinced himself heās worked past it. He can work perfectly with others on ANBU missions, follow their rules exactly and predict them, and thatās what companionship and trust is, right?
Only Itachi doesnāt realize he only trusts people heās comfortable around. And heās only comfortable around two people in the whole village. His parents heās not comfortable with because they expect so much of him, and see him as so many different masks that he has to keep trying to keep up with or slowly try to wean them off of. His clan sees him as something he knows heās not, but he also is at the same time. His teachers think heās perfect so he tries to be perfect, but he doesnāt realize heās exhausted, that heās burning out, because he has to be perfect all the time, even though normal people have to take down time. And the village just expects him to keep saying no, heās ok, heās good.
And then unrest starts happening, and people start looking to Itachi like heās an adult, and asking him to make decisions without all the information. Asking him to write answers without telling him what the rest of the situation is. Should he side with his clan because heās supposed to do that, heās supposed to be loyal and love them, but heās also supposed to be loyal and love the village, but no one ever explained what to do when theyāre at odds. 13 year old Itachi is a teenager being given their own finances for the first time, moving out and being expected to know how to get up to work at the right time, and work the right job, and manage their budget, and find the right apartment, and decide to say no when theyāre asked to do an extra long shift for the 4th time in a row because they actually do need sleep. And he doesnāt know how to handle it, heās not mentally ready to handle it even, heās only 13.
And thereās only two people in the world he actually trusts, and he doesnāt know that either, doesnāt realize that heās calm around Shisui and Sasuke and nobody else, and that his emotions in relation to them ar so much worse.
So he kills his clan, and it feels bad, but not that much worse than killing people on orders any other time. At the time itās miserable, but heās been taught to compartmentalize his whole life and he does. And itās better afterwards, because thatās how compartmentalization works and not blaming himself for being the tool in the hands of others and all that. He doesnāt see anything wrong with the whole clan being murdered, but at the time he does agonize over if that was the right answer on the test, but heās not supposed to think about it too much after the fact so he lets it go.
Teenage Itachi is learning that things arenāt always right or wrong answers, that hundreds of thousands of variations exist, and he doesnāt like it. He realizes that even doing the right thing could get Sasuke killed, and Sasuke is one of the only things that makes him unable to think everything out clearly, because even when he tries to think everything out clearly he finds later that he missed certain things because he just couldnāt consider them in the throws of emotion. But he still thinks heās in control of his emotions, and he still follows orders really well, and can consider what Akatsuki wants and thinks itās a good idea.
And he still doesnāt care about anything. It feels less real now that he went so far for Sasuke, felt so badly about Shisuiās death. Konoha isnāt even really his problem anymore, since he isnāt supposed to belong to it anymore. He doesnāt think about it and therefore it isnāt a problem. Itachi isnāt loyal to the village because he never was. Heās not not loyal to it now though, because heās just as loyal as he was before he left, thinks about it less but in the same way when he does.
Itachi wants Sasuke to survive though, so he needs to inspire him to become strong, so heāll make himself a target, perfectly logical once he realizes heās a missing nin now, and Sasuke is supposed to care about the death of his clan, of their parents. (And he doesnāt realize itās so much worse for Sasuke, because Sasuke is like Kakashi, he cared, still cares. Itachi thinks he loved his clan, remember, so he thinks Sasuke feels about the clan the way he did. Doesnāt connect how Sasuke feels about the clan with what he feels about Sasuke.)
And when situations pop up like being revived from the dead he has a logical response, rather than an emotional one. Because heās not really worried Sasuke is going to die to him. He would just rather be dead than not, so heās going to fix it.
I feel like I rambled way more than I wanted too, and it might not even make any sense. But hopefully some of it is helpful?
Iām going to post this now before it gets any longer.
Good luck.
