Silesian museum, Katowice, Poland , Riegler-Riewe architects, 2013 The history of the town is related to mining so the architects decided to design a museum on the site of a former mine. The museum is actually bellow the surface and the only source of light comes trough these translucent cubes above ground. The cubes, due to the light colours, blend into the surrounding area covered with plants as pale and pastel as the translucent cubes. The colours of the site blend with the color of the cubes and the city of Katowice behind it.
