don't get me wrong I do think the pwhl teams should tie into the identity of the corresponding nhl franchise in terms of branding, especially when sharing an arena/practice spaces (like wnba teams are almost always tied into their nbc teams by name/and or color scheme) etc so I would love to see an aquatic name for pwhl sj especially since sap is currently undergoing a multimillion dollar renovation and will be entirely aquatic themed because it creates a lovely cohesive city feel and it would be dumb as rocks to be in a tank themed venue and be some ridiculous name like the san jose monarchs (orange is a heinous color to use but anyways) this does not mean pwhl players can be compared to and used as fodder for nhl players and rpf narratives
