A bit more jacket progress. The appliqué necessitates a bit of a different construction order than usual, since it goes over the shoulder seam. Normally I finish lining the fronts before attaching any of it to the back.

I haven't worked on it much in the past couple weeks, but I got the rest of the appliqué basted on a while ago, and last night sewed nearly half the edges down. It's a bit tedious because the thread keeps getting caught on the sequins, which is why I basted a scrap of mockup fabric over the bottom part before sewing the pocket flap on.

stand and bend over from the neck/shoulders (not the waist, but you'll end up bending there anyway), like you're attempting to look at your own stomach. upside-down J shape is what you're aiming for.

with your head as upside-down as possible, try to drink from a glass of water - you won't easily be able to, but you should be able to get at least some water into your mouth
