Violence for violence is the way of the beasts— and my dear, you've always been too kind.

Here’s some sketches exploring one of my ideas for the creature from “The Terror” by Dan Simmons, and how I imagined it could work as a supernatural element while still able to be mistaken for a polar bear at a glance or in the distance.

I’m trying to flex those imagination muscles, since I love film and would like to do more concept art and creature design~ Huge thanks to the great @guydavisart for ever so generously sharing his knowledge and invaluable feedback!

Chalcedony skeleton hand on a rutilated quartz base by Harold Van Pelt. Each bone of the hand took months to carve with anatomical accuracy. The chalcedony agate resembles the color of real bones.
