so cute
the age old tale
oh my godâŚ
drew barrymore and timothy olyphant in santa clarita diet are the literal embodiment of the âlast two brain cellsâ meme
The literal point of shows like Rick and Morty and Bojack Horseman is that itâs bad and alienating to be a âtortured geniusâ douchebag. Both characters end up torpedo-ing any meaningful relationships they have bc theyâre fucking narcissists, and yet that point seems to be lost on every single fanboy

this is it.
this is the best tweet iâve seen.
Please donât sleep on Netflixâs One Day at a Time. It took me way too long to start this show but holy mother of God, itâs so unbelievably special. The representation is astounding (I of course canât speak on behalf of a community Iâm not a part of, but Iâve only heard amazing things from my friends who are.) The way it handles culture, anxiety, depression, religion, LGBTQ, social justice issues, etc. is superb. The performances are remarkable. The conversations are so raw. Itâs so so so so so so important, please do as I did and start it now. It needs to be picked up because these are the types of shows that deserve to be on for a long, long time. Donât let it get axed.
i was rewatching one day at a time and it was so nice to have elena mention that sheâs passing but also gay and a woman bc Iâm passing and bi and a woman so itâs good to be reminded Iâm still latina lol
One Day at a Time really is that bitch huh. This is exactly why I love it, it has actual real representation and itâs able to tackle sensitive topics in a non-offensive, comedic, informative way. Especially colorism and how every POC may not necessarily be shades and shades darker than white people.
Itâs been a really long time since I enjoyed a sitcom as much as I love One Day at a Time. The diversity and complexity of the characters, the heart and sensitivity of the script, and the moving and hilarious performances by the cast members all combine to create something truly enjoyable and funny.
Itâs wholesome, safe, and true to what family means in todayâs America. And because itâs written for 2019, the characters develop, and grow, and backslide, and discover new things about themselves. Itâs a sitcom without the limitations of the usual tropes and stereotypes that often make sitcoms hard to watch. I havenât watched and enjoyed a sitcom so much in over a decade.
The show covers topics like coming out as a young teen, immigration and forced deportation, depression and anxiety, PTSD, and addiction with levity but also with great respect to the struggles people face when they experience these moments in life.Â
Penelope is a fierce, badass Latina mother, a hardworking nurse, a veteran, and someone who has to take antidepressants every day in order maintain a normal lifestyle. Elena is an equally fierce teen feminist, a lesbian, and (from s2 onward) dates a nonbinary kid named Syd. But she also struggles with her fatherâs homophobia and her grandmotherâs expectations of her as a young woman. Scheider is a trust fund kid, a wealthy white man with oodles of privilege and luck - but heâs also a recovering alcoholic/drug addict and a deeply lonely man who considers the Alvarezes to be his true family, because his own is so dysfunctional and loveless.
Thatâs just three of the most obvious examples of the way this show has worked so hard to establish real, developed characters who still have room to grow. Every single character has depth, and flaws, and compelling personalities. All of the showâs conflicts come from the Alvarez family and friendsâ relationships, and their struggles to support and love one another through all of the unexpected things that just come with living life.
Unfortunately, One Day at a Time is in trouble. If more people donât start watching, weâll never get to see the fourth season.
I love this show so much, and I hope if you read all of this, you understand why a bit more. Please give it a chance, if you havenât already. Or maybe even a second chance, if you tried it and were sure it wasnât your thing. It only gets better as it goes on, and itâs almost impossible not to love every single primary character by the end of the first season. Every finale will leave you in happy tears. Itâs an excellent show and it would be such a loss if it isnât renewed. Please, please give it a try!

Iâm only three eps. in S1 and itâs soooooo good
Hi if you havenât watched One Day at a Time on Netflix you need to bc itâs amazing and definitely the best show Iâve seen in a while okay thanks
ONE DAY AT A TIME
Okay⌠If we learned anything by the âalmost cancellationâ and renewal of Brooklyn 99 is that the voices of fans matter and that if thereâs enough uproar then odat will continueâŚSo letâs continue to show our love for the show and hype it up (as much or more than Riverdale cuz this gem of a show is much more needed and representative)âŚ. Like honestly letâs trend the shit out of it!!!
PS: PR for this show is not quite as much as it deserves⌠Like thereâs so much publicity for sex education (which is quite good) but literally there are so few interviews about odat and thank God I saw a (below ; what a great ep) gif and thought to check it out!!
PPS: Can one person watching it again adds to the views like YouTube orâŚ. Whatever I am gonna watch it 52 times again
We're in danger of Netflix canceling 'One Day at a Time' which would be a huge television loss.
