One of the more obvious (to me, anyway) ways that my writing has improved since I was a teenager is that I'm much more comfortable rearranging chunks of writing, whether it's a sentence or paragraphs or a whole scene
When I was younger, I really struggled with this. Sentences were written in that order cause that's the order they had to be in- I had a very hard time figuring out how to change that order and still keep the scene coherent
Now I can casually cut a scene up into strips and swap them around like it's a guess-which-cup-the-rock-is-under game, then just adjust them and reword things as needed until the scene flows as though it was written that way from the beginning
Don't know when that happened, but I'm really glad it did
