Hi there! I read your fics like way back when, I think I was a freshman in college? It was a long time ago, for sure more than 10 years.
Fast-forward to now, I’m writing my own fics (albeit a totally different fandom), and I often catch myself wondering “what made KryallaOrchid’s fics awesome? How can I bring that energy to my writing?” and I don’t think I’m there at all, but you were a huge inspo for my fic writing hobby, and eventually writing a novel, so thank you for sharing your work with us 🙏🏼
Honestly, that's the same mindset I have while reading some of my favourite authors, paying attention to how they did things and what made their writing so compelling, so its a good way go! Keep at it! I still don't think I'm there some days, but a writer's ego is a fragile thing. We're always a lot better than we think we are!
Thank you so much for reading!
Hi! I just wanted to reach out and say, thank you! I was obsessed with your teen titans fics in middle & high school & have gone back and reread them quite a few times as comfort reads over the years (I even have them saved on my kindle lol). I’m currently on vacation with my family & when we aren’t out, my cousins & I (all in our late 20s - late 30s!) have been rewatching teen titans and introducing our nieces (9, 6) to the show. that itch to reread some of my all time favorite fics came back so I just reread Touch, & imagine my surprise to see that you’ve done Touch (Redux)!! I’m so excited to give that a read!! you were such a formative part of my fanfiction & fandom experience as a teen, & I’m so happy to see the love for TT still exists & that you’re dabbling in redux fics. I wish you all the best in your writing endeavors both professional & fanfic…and if you ever get the urge to write more redux fics or even new robstar fics, you have another loyal reader here! <3 you’re always gonna be the queen of robstar fics!
Hi!
Thank you so much! It's lovely to know you're a re-reader, and even better to know you grew up on my fics and still came back.
Yeah, I still dabble and get ideas for Starfire and Robin or urges to rewrite the old stuff. I am ignoring the urge to rewrite E'ara because, as bad (factually incorrect in places, poorly written, and with tropes that make me cringe) as I find it, it's also one of my greatest accomplishments.
But Touch, that one still gives me what-if ideas all the time, and sometimes they deserve to be written! That's what fanfic is all about.
Yesssss, get that next-gen of kids hooked on the Titans, too! Woo!
(Yoinked this from LinkedIn, genuinely interested in seeing how responses align with demographics) (so far it’s those of us over 35 being indignant but I wanna see how those fully plays out) (it’s cultural and technological history/memory, bruh)

just received the best text message I’ve ever had. from my mom
2 pics. no caption
I had to draw this beautiful lady
I've slowly been chipping away at drawing scenes from that imaginary Muppet retelling of the Princess Bride, figured it was about time to share what I've drawn on Tumblr!
Greetings :) Incredibly random but I read your fanfics as a student and now I’m 30, a teacher and a recently revived TT/Starfire fan. It’s school holidays and I had an itch to read something comforting and familiar and I discovered you have an AO3 account and I’ve read your redux stories. Not sure how to describe it, but you’ve rekindled an old love that I thought I had ‘outgrown’. I love how you write, how you weave new narratives out of the old cartoon and how you characterise Starfire. Even now, she means so much to me and your stories capture so much about what I love about her.
Anyway, this is all to say thank you for sharing your craft. I love your writing and I’m excited to read your original works.
- A long time fan from Vic, Australia.
Heee! Thank you! It's lovely to get messages like this, seeing my readers from way back when living their lives and still coming back to read.
I think the Titans will always stay with us; their stories and relationships with each other were just ahead of their time. I haven't found that sort of magic in a show very much since then.
Thank you for your message!
Hi! I hope you're doing well! I've been a fan of your TT fanfics ever since you started writing, and I've been re-reading Touch (Redux), which I think is one of my favorite stories you've ever written, and I was wondering if you were ever planning on doing Masks? I really hope I don't come across as pushy or demanding, I was just curious!
I enjoyed writing Touch (Redux). It was fun to reimagine.
As for Masks, @wintermoth has been (not-so-quietly) reminding me, so rest assured, it hasn't been forgotten. I'm letting it sit, mainly because I have already rewritten Masks before, and a lot of the events in there are static events, because they're driven by other characters, not Robin or Starfire, so the only characters that would be different are those two, and their relationship, because of how they got together.
So I'm honestly not sure how much of a story I can get out of it without feeling like I'm rehashing old content. It's stewing, but I'm leaning toward a slice-of-life, and perhaps more shenanigans with the duo in Gotham before stuff goes down.

How do you feel about the new Starfire animated series?
It has Silkie. That's all I need to know.
I'm not the target audience, but I'll watch it, (depending on whether or not I can actually get it). It looks cute and interesting and I'm curious.
hi. did you know australia has a fairywren species called the superb fairywren
and another species called the splendid fairywren
...and one called the lovely fairywren
They just named these by showing pictures to some elderly woman and noting down her first delighted exclamation.
Write that one-shot. Those 3 chapters will be the best 10 chapters you ever wrote
Question 1:
What’s the best place to post original literature? I’m not sure if I should try Wattpad or not.
Question 2: Has anyone ever ghost write an already published series? Ok what I mean is for example, The Blue Lagoon (1980) is one of my favorite movies and I want to read the first book but, I’m disappointed that the author changed the ending from the first book into the second. So I figured, maybe ghost write my own sequels and hope it’ll be published? Has anyone ever done that with permission?
Question 1:
It really depends on genre. Wattpad can be very good for some people, and awful for others. You hear stories of people writing bestsellers on Wattpad, but given the sheer number of stories there, it can be hard to find the really good ones.
Other places I have heard of are:
Royal Road https://www.royalroad.com
Scribble Hub https://www.scribblehub.com
FictionPress https://www.fictionpress.com
It depends on a lot of things, like how fast you can produce chapters, what you're looking for in a reader, and your end goals. Decide what is right for your work.
Question 2:
I'm unsure on the wording of this question.
Ghost writing the practice of hiring a professional writer to create literary or journalistic works, speeches, or content that is officially credited to another person.
I think you mean retconned? Retcon means 'Retroactive Continuity': when previously established facts are overwritten later, like changing an ending so something else happens in future books. This happens all the time, in TV series, in books, in all sorts of places.
Plenty of books have done what Blue Lagoon did at the end, then changed the ending for the sequel. However, to be fair to Blue Lagoon, the ending was ambiguous enough that it could have gone either way, and 'sleeping' is no good if you don't wake up. So it's technically not a retcon, but an ambiguous ending receiving a definite outcome in a sequel. This is also a common trick.
There are many authors who write on free platforms, get feedback, then publish with 'extras' or a different ending. Or publish sequels to a story they posted for free later. It's really up to you and what you want out of your writing.
do fic readers know that their comments actually influence the course of the story sometimes? i don't mean in a "you need to write it this way because i say so 😡" type of comment, i mean when people are asking questions or really engaging with the plot and the themes in the comments they sometimes bring up things that i didn't even think of, or dig into parts of the story that i've overlooked, or get really interested/fixated on something i was going to just kind of glance over--and it has me going 'oh wait that's actually really interesting, that's a good point' and fully adding or tweaking or changing things about the story going forward. i'm literally adding an entire additional chapter to something right now because someone's comment had me like "oh i didn't dig into that as much as i could have." you have impact!
Reblogging cuz I’m once again in the middle of adding an entire new plot arc to a fic because of a comment - and you know what, it made it better!
