certain book fans always have the biggest problem understanding (present-time) daniel cause they keep seeing the characters in the series through the lens of their book counterparts and they are, of course, struggling while trying to attach the very different version of molloy from the books to the molloy from the show or, alternatively, to analyse this major character that basically only exists in the show on his own merit, without the assistance of the expansive and finished text of the books that they so often rely on while analysing other characters. but are we ready for that conversation.
