Happy pride month to the tiny cowboy and tiny Trojan man from Night at the Museum
This hands down the best comment in the notes, I will not be taking criticism.
The man-free sanctuary will offer up a range of typical beauty services such as hair, waxing, facials and manicures and pedicures, while providing unique services like henna and halal nails and eyebrow shaping.
“We want women to be able to come in and feel completely relaxed,” ~ Quhshi said.
Quhshi also noted that while Le’Jemalik was created with Muslims in mind, “women of all faiths, races, and ethnicities” are welcome.
This store is in Brooklyn, please support if you can; this is such a huge need for us muslim women.
It’s so pretty too 🥰
For anyone wondering: Someone in the notes said they contacted the salon and yes it is trans women friendly

can for once for once we have a character who does not want to be married and they actually stay that way
the problem with fictional characters is that i am not one
When you get down to it, Sonic actually is a pretty polite and gracious character.
One of his most overlooked traits me thinks.
Adding this one when his life is saved:
I know this post is about Sonic’s politeness and grattitude, but I think it’s also nice to add a reminder that he’s also pretty gentlemanly.
these double their meaning in the japanese versions of the games, where, ironically, sonic doesn’t use polite speech at all. he doesn’t use “-san”, polite forms for any of his sentences, like ending with a “masu”, “desu”, or using a proper “watashi” to refer to himself with strangers, and most notably: he addresses everyone as “omae”. for a note, “omae” is a casual pronoun. it’s like saying to your teacher ,“yeah, no problem man!” or to an elderly person “dude, you’re really vibing!”. it essentially puts you and the people you’re addressing on equal footing. it’s the kind you use with your friend when you find them at your part time job to let them know, “hey, i’m not gonna put on my ‘how can i help you today’ face with you, don’t worry about it.” sonic addressing everyone as “omae” this can be seen as rude in japanese culture, where you’re meant to call strangers by last name +-san, to speak with a polite persona unless you’re with friends. but it makes a lot of sense for sonic. he hates rules, hates titles, and hates inequality. him using “omae” puts everyone on the same level as he is. equals.
sonic he has his own way of politeness. he doesn’t want to treat others below or above him. he doesn’t say “thank you” out of commodity, like manners ingrained and we’re said to do just… because. when he says “thank you” , it’s because he means it and is genuinely grateful. and i think that’s quite gentlemanly.
In addition, the pronoun he uses to refer to himself is “ore”. Which comes-off as informal and even rude in some situations. It greatly contrasts with Shadow’s “boku”, which is comparitively “humble”.

i’ve been thinking a lot about the insane dehumanization of north koreans lately (they’re not allowed to smile, they’re all brainwashed, they would let their family die to save a picture of their “dear” leader etc) so here’s another post with pictures from the dprk of north koreans just… being people
as always i highly recommend this easily accessible youtube documentary called the haircut/we went to north korea to get a haircut
it’s revolutionarily eye opening to westerners who’ve been provided nothing but incredibly biased ‘news’ against nk since birth. you are not immune to propaganda
I wish disability positivity was less about preaching "you can do anything you put your mind to if you work hard" and more about telling disabled people "what you can do right now matters even when it's less than or different from what society expects."
