Oh, this whole concept sounds so cute!!
About historical Salieriās siblingsā¦ he actually had something like fourteen of them, iirc. So, yeah, thereās a lot of possible choices there, if you manage to find a complete list of them somewhere, lol. The most well-known of them are Francesco and Pietro, though. Maybe they donāt fit well with the Georgiana theme, since theyāre both older brothers who took care of Salieri and if I understand correctly Georgianaās function is to humanize Darcy further by being young and vulnerable and making him appear as a good and thoughtful guardian, but they were pretty important in Salieriās life.
Francesco, you might already know from some fanfictions on AO3. In real life, he was a musician himself and taught Salieri to play the violin and the piano, as well as being one of his first singing teachers. He must have been good because he was often called to play in church festivals and even in fairs held in neighbouring towns, and Salieri himself loved his music and always accompanied him to those events to hear it if there was enough space on the carriage Francesco rode on. Thereās actually a very cute story about one time there wasnāt enough space, which happened when Salieri was like ten. Basically, little Salieri was very disappointed to have been left home, so without even thinking of telling his parents or anyone else, he took off and walked all the way to the town Francesco was playing in that day.
Understandably, his parents freaked out when they realized he had disappeared and were very mad when he came back. His fatherĀ threatened to confine him to his room and feed him only bread and water for a week, should he ever attempt to do anything like that again. So little Salieri, knowing himself, thought, yeah, no, Iām probably gonna do that again, andā¦ secretely stocked up on sugar. Because he had a huge sweet tooth, and not eating sweets for a week sounded like hell to him.
Flash forward to some time later, but not later enough for Salieri Sr. to have stopped worrying already. Francesco has gone off to play somewhere again, and Salieri has been left home again. Heās not really planning another stunt like the one before, butā¦ suddenly, he realizes that technically, the church is in the same general direction as the place Francesco has just gone to. So without really thinking about it, he finds himself walking right past the churchā¦ only to be immediately stopped by his fatherās servant, whoās been ordered to keep an eye on him, and brought right back home. Where is father grounds him, ofc. And poor Salieri finds out that one of his sisters (the name isnāt recorded, alas), to whom heād told about the secret sugar stash, had told their mother about it. Then the mother had, of course, told the father. The way Salieri himself tells the tale is actually pretty funny:Ā āI had entrusted my secret to my sister; she had entrusted it to my mother, and she had entrusted it to my father, who on that very morning before I was brought back, had confiscated my entire stock as contraband of war.ā
About Pietro, unfortunately, thereās not a lot to say. He was ordained a monk and, when Salieri found himself an orfan at thirteen and he and many of his siblings where suddenly being shuffled around and sent off to live with every available older sibling or family friend, he took Salieri in and made sure he received an education at the school connected to his monastery in Padua. Eventually, Salieri went to live in Venice with a rich friend of their father, Giovanni Mocenigo, and there he was noticed byĀ Florian Leopold Gassmann, who brought him to Vienna.
