so much of disco elysium is looking *up*, so its only fitting that 2 of the 4 ideologies, moralism and communism in disco elysium have symbols relating to the sky - moralism the clouds, the daylight sky, the one the color of forget-me-nots, *aerostatics*, and communism - the stars. the latter one was quite well explored already, so let me give you a taste of moralintern's sky:

The scene with the mirror is a showcase of Harry's self loathing, and it is disturbing and strange to Harry, because it is about the disconnect between the culture he began using drugs and alcohol in and the man this has left him as. It does not matter if you simply see a normal man, or a drunken creep (which Harry is not, I do think you are just being mean to long-term alcoholics if you hold this belief), because Harry only sees the expression of himself as a young man who began drinking and partying as a way to enjoy himself in a breaking society, on the face of a man this drinking has destroyed.

He kills a man because he cannot bear for Wolfwoods sacrifice to be in vain.

The only person Vash ever kills of his own free will is for Wolfwood.

This absolute refusal to kill is a key, defining, bone deep aspect of who Vash is as a person. He does not kill. He does so to honor his dead mother (Rem). Knives has been trying to get Vash to kill for centuries, Vash has not. Not under threat of pain, death, hatred, or anything else.

He breaks all of this for Wolfwood.

And once he’s done it?

All he can think of is what he’s said to Wolfwood, how Wolfwood must have felt.
