Sorry for the radio silence. I've been busy with cons, zines, cms, got sick, but in between my partner and I started creating a new world with new (and some old) blorbos.
Think a fantasy world that suffered a great catastrophe during which all the magic and magical beings died.
Liam, Quin and Cass are brand new. And since I like recycling my characters a lot, I grabbed Ulric and Valeria. (... and Jim and Ady and Mort's Zach and some others...)

Most of these are from March/April, when I was focused on giving the characters face and hairstyles (some were tougher than the others).
I knew exactly what I was looking for when it came to Liam - my sad wet bird of a guy. A lonely scavenger with too many skeletons in his closet. His outfit might change a little (I'm not fond of his boots in particular), but otherwise I'm quite happy with the result!
Quin on the other hand? Boy, trying to figure out a blond twink of your own after drawing SO MANY of them in the past few years was tough, because I knew that no matter what I do, he'll look like somebody I've already drawn before. My nerdy boi with a photographic memory, who's far too smart for his own good (while also being incredibly impractical and entirely dumb about certain things). Definitely not a fighter, more of an explorer and a 'scholar'. Collects remaining magical artifacts/trinkets.
Ulric is-- Ulric. Since I already tweaked his origin (and his armor) a lot for the original game character version, it wasn't that difficult to come up with a new one for the needs of this story. I could just go wild without fearing of messing up the canon characters around him. Gave him one of my older chars as his brother. In this new world he's a ranger, still goes insane about wolves, is still a bastard and his right eye is actually blind this time. His surname is Norbrook here and he's a regent of a city up in the north.
Cassian was also a question mark. I knew what type of character I needed to match Ulric in the world (...of course I did), but I still wanted him to be unique in his own way. So I ended up with a fox. Another redhead elf to my collection (a third one actually???). He's from the hottest city in the south. A mages' son, a spy, a thief, a slave, a runaway, a killer only when he needs to be (doesn't enjoy it). He dyes his hair and changes his henna-like tattoos to look different often. So technically -- all of the concepts I have for him here are valid? But in my head he's almost always redhaired.
And Valeria. A free soul. Cass' best friend and his 'savior'. Rider from the great eastern plains. A nomad, a storyteller, an ambassador. I've had her for ten years (wait whut) now and I keep dropping her into EVERY single cameo I can think of, because she's just... fun.
I think I' went'm going a little insane about this story. Kept saying I hope this project survives the con season. Only one con left this Saturday and the prologue (the most complicated part) is almost finished (6/8 pages done, 2 more almost finished).
I wanted to drop these here just to show off my new blorbos and maybe give you a hint of what I've been doodling and building in between all the work.
Fingers crossed this doesn't die the moment I finish the last page of the prologue. I feel like I might slowly start to recover from my burnout and I'm just pouring all of my self indulgence into this project.

I knew from the summary it wasn't going to be sunshine and rainbows but it's always much easier for me to choose when/if to read books with heavy/truamatic content if I know what I'm getting into. The ableism warning is especially good to know, since that hits closer to home for me personally.

Hello, hope this isn't a bother but I was wondering if you've read Shฤ Pรฒ Lรกng(Stars of Chaos) by Priest and if you had; if there are any trigger warnings to be aware of.
I looked on Novel Updates but I've found that people don't always feel it necessary to tag for abuse or r*pe or mention that kind of thing in reviews so it's very hard to get a straight answer unless it's like, an egregious amount of triggering content.
If you don't know that's fine obviously, I don't mean to put you on the spot, you're just kinda the only blog I know of that's been up front about TW's in Danmei when giving book recs.

If you saw me at Dokomi and said nice things to me and/or asked for a picture, THANK YOU SO MUCH, you have no idea how happy you made me!! ๐ฅน I got so many pic requests, I still can't believe how kind and excited about my cosplay everyone was! ๐ฅน I'm sorry if I was maybe too shy at times, my brain literally doesn't know how to deal with the attention but trust me you made all the hard work and suffering in the heat worth it, thank you again from the bottom of my heart!! ;u;

The owl-like brushbuddy was entirely made by me, pattern included!! isn't she the cutest.... her name is Tawny :3c I didn't mean to make her look like an owl, it was totally on accident ๐ but I'm not complaining and now I do plan on making an owlcat plushie, which would be more accurate, I'd totally forgotten about the owlcat in that one gorgeous illustration of Atuarto and Galga!!
I bought the jedi robes pattern by @julie.chantal and then made the length shorter, the sleeves longer, added the orange parts, and modified the hood pattern to be pointier and be attached to the coat lower.
For the hat I bought the base pattern by @elegantfeatherduster and made the necessary changes/additions to fit Atuarto's hat. (I want to rework the orange part, I was running out of time so once it looked good enough I didn't try harder to figure out how to make it look like it's supposed to.)
I also got a ton of advice and support from my server friends, I had never sewn clothes before so I legit couldn't have done it without them!! ๐ฅบ
The shirt and boots were bought secondhand on Vinted.
The pants were part of the old version of the cosplay that I wore in 2023, which I commissioned hanae_costume.
I plan to remake the shirt and pants in the future, but it's not urgent so....One Day!!
