my brain can’t just “like” something

well yeah? i’m completely aware of this anon? the definition of comphet is the idea that heterosexuality is assumed and enforced by a patriarchal and heteronormative society. which is why lesbians experience it. it’s not a genuine attraction to men, it’s the confusion of attraction and societal norms telling you what attraction is. i’ve never ACTUALLY felt attraction for a man before, but i’ve THOUGHT i had in the past due to not being able to distinguish my platonic feelings vs romantic. since society pushes heteronormative relationships, it’s hard to tell whether your feelings are real or just a product of what society is telling you. i don’t want to argue this further but i wanted to reply, belittling lesbians experiences just because yours were different is hurtful and invalidating.
