I have a bit of a headcanon when it comes to the marriages of Daella and Rhae, the daughters of Maekar and Dyanna. So far GRRM has only said that they both married and had children, but sadly their spouses are never named. He might bring it up in the second Fire and Blood book but who knows. So until he does, here are my theories. I guess for one of them its not really a true theory since its kind of implied that one of them married a Tarth. Given the fact its established that Brienne is a descendant of the Targs (and possibly Duncan, but thats a whole other thing). So I'm going to say Daella is the one who married a Tarth (and maybe had an affair with Dunk?) just because she is the older sister. And for Rhae, I like to think that she married a member of House Darry from the Riverlands. My thought process for that is because of just how unusually loyal the Darry's are to the Targaryens during Robert's Rebellion. So much so that it is Ser Willem Darry who helps Rhaella and Viserys escape, is possibly there for Dany's birth and then basically raises them in the house with the red door until he dies from illness. Just how utterly loyal he is until the end is interesting that it makes one think "why". Well if its because the Darry's end up being related to the Targs in some way would make some sense to me. They are helping their "family" per se. I'm probably way off but thats just my thought. Rhae's husband was the lord of Darry. Lol
OHHH that’s super interesting! and honestly double interesting just thinking about how it’s gregor that wipes out the main darry line - he wipes out the main targaryen line in aegon & rhaenys, then accidentally wipes out yet another targ line in the darry’s.
i also agree re: Daella being the one to marry the Evenstar and have Dunk's love child. She's the one that's meant to marry Egg, he says so here-
"And once my sister Rhae put a love potion in my drink, so I'd marry her instead of my sister Daella." Egg spoke as if such incest was the most natural thing in the world. For him it is. The Targaryens had been marrying brother to sister for hundreds of years, to keep the blood of the dragon pure. Though the last actual dragon had died before Dunk was born, the dragonkings went on. Maybe the gods don't mind them marrying their sisters.
And Dunk reflects on how weird it is. So I think, narratively, it makes sense then that they would see Daella again, and that it would be that sister, the one Egg was meant to marry, that Dunk falls in love with.
I've always supposed to Rhae marries into the Hightowers - I figured strengthening the bond that exists between the Hightowers and the crown after Rhaena and her husband had a bajillion kids. But marrying a Darry, that one is interesting.
