~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Doctor loved his husband. He loved his husband to no end, and was fully prepared to bring upon the oncoming storm of affection unto him. Thatâs why, today, he was in France- alone. His aforementioned husband was currently back in the TARDIS enjoying breakfast in bed under the written instructions to pick out his best fancy trousers and favorite button up shirt. R/N was delighted but slightly confused and very curious at the entire situation once he had gathered his senses after a particularly deep sleep.
The time lord moved swiftly, determined to finish arranging things early as to make time to greet his beloved and give him the pre-affections before his grand gesture. It was all planned out. It had been planned out for as long as he fell for this strange man who was lucky to be alive under the circumstances of their first meeting. The Doctor kept moving atop the large structure, moving two chairs to face the exact angle for the optimal view- he knew because he calculated it the minute he arrived. Lastly, he placed the cloth over the table that was resting between the chairs he had just carefully placed. It was all set up, the food having been prepared in a neat basket to the left of his romantic set-up. He went down flights and flights of steps so hastily it was unreal, and soon after burst through the TARDISâ door with the widest, happiest, most genuine smile youâd ever see.
You had just finished putting on your attire of choice, as per your Doctorâs note, and headed to the âmain roomâ of the TARDIS to await your husbandâs return. There was a certain cheery glow to the TARDISâ normal lighting and sound, which made you even more pleasantly curious for what the crazy man- alien, in the brown pinstripes had done this time. You ran a hand through your short hair in thought, a trait you had picked up directly as a result of your closeness with The Doctor. Suddenly, the door was thrown open and after you returned the familiar smile you immediately noticed, you realized that wherever you were, it was late into sundown. âMon Amour!â your husband said excitedly before running up to embrace you and kiss the top of your head tenderly.
âDoctor..do you want to explain why I woke up alone?â You chided in a âhurtâ tone. âVery sorry about that- but not really. Youâll see, itâll have been worth it.â His accent rang clear even in the quick succession of his words as he slowly pulled his chest from yours. He slid his hands down the tops of your arms so he could keep them in his cool and comforting hold. âWhy am I all proper dressed up?â âFull of questions today, arenât we? Thatâs why youâre brilliant. Always so curious...â he went on singing your praises as you cast your gaze to the floor, feeling your cheeks grow warm. âSo handsome too, mon amour.â âDoctor..why do you keep calling me that?â
âAh well, when in Rome!â He said the first bit fast and drew out the last word, putting emphasis on the middle of the word. âAre we- are we in France?â You inferred in the form of a question, to ensure that you werenât making a mistaken assumption. âQuĂ, my sweet intelligent human husband.â âAlright, cool it Casanova.â âHey! I knew him- and we are nothing alike I assure you.â âNothing?â âWell, I donât know. Suppose we could be..â
The time lord winked at you playfully before you chuckled and squeezed his hands. âOkay, take me to wherever youâve been all this time.â
âOf course, Mon Amour.â
He says sweetly, the words holding no humor but being light as ever..soft and genuine. It made a warmth spread from the middle of your chest to your shoulders and radiating around you, like his wondrous embrace. It only grew as he guided you by the hand under the slowly darkening sky- under the beautiful deep orange glow of the sunset. Oh my, how you loved your alien husband. You felt a love for him so strong, even if you didnât have the ability to change the universe with a flick of a finger or press of a button, you had the ability to follow your lover to the ends of the edges of reality and you would use it each and every day. The end didnât matter, because you were nowhere near it. He was yours. He belonged to time, he belonged to other companions, he belonged to his past, but now? He belonged to the love of his life. A human man, from Earth. R/N L/N from Earth. The Doctorâs husband. He pulled you along still, and you were smiling the entire way. Your eyes widened when he grew closer and closer to the Eiffel Tower.
âDoctor! We canât be allowed up there! Whatâre you doing??â You said with concern in your voice, but you were soothed immediately by his excited voice that followed after your fearful one, âItâs ours for the night! Can you believe it, the benefits of being me!â âYou great big sap, you! Youâve gone and rented out the Eiffel Tower for us? Youâve gone entirely mad!â âMad with love for my husband, yes. Mad in general, no!â He reasoned, knowing that you were only having a non-serious jab at his grand gesture. After what felt like infinite stairs pasted you, your Doctor helped you up the last one- pulling you into a gentle kiss to prelude what youâd see once you two parted. âOh..Doctor- how??â You exclaimed as you opened your eyes to take in the beautiful sight laid before you. Two chairs, a white clothed table, and small candles lighting a path and the area of the table where two equally sized wine glasses sit idly. Most captivatingly, the incredible view from the top. Lights everywhere, but the tenderness of the night rampant and alluring. âI had hoped to get up those steps before the sunset was finished..â the Doctor lamented quietly. âThis is better.â You said firmly, with confidence and love seeping from your words. He gave you another wonderful smile, âWine, Mon amour?â âQuĂâ. He then reached to the left, grabbing a lavish bottle from a picnic basket that was shadowed by the chair next to it. He opens it carefully, and pours some into your glass before doing the same for his.
The Doctor then pulls your chair out for you, kissing your ring before helping you to sit. âIâm a grown man, Doctor. I can seat myself.â You chide once again, âyou and your attitude, I love it.â
âOi!â He laughs at your stubborn nature endearingly. He raises his glass after taking his own seat parallel to you. âCheers.â He says as you raise your glass to his. You both take a sip, savoring the rich taste of the wine. âDoctor?â âYes, R/N?â âI love this. I love how you go out of your way to do these things, it makes me feel special and..â you cough, hitting your chest to try and pass it off, âit makes me feel, appreciated by you. Not that I donât normally but-â
The Doctorâs unmoving gaze and handsome smile interrupted your speech. âI know, love.â He says, softly but in a tone that sounds so sure. Everything is sure. Your love for him is so sure. The night beside you two, the candles, the moment, his heartfelt words and actions. Everything is sure.
