Dixie Bennings can fight me actually. Because thus far she has:
1) Kept Blue from his dad for his entire childhood and early adult life
2) Made him think that his dad either didn’t know or didn’t care about him
3) Straight up told Blue that she had to give up her dreams for him/his existence ruined her dreams of becoming a singer a few episodes ago
4) Made Blue sleep in a storage cabinet/closet while she was on tour
5) Tried to force Blue into a plot to extort his dad for money
6) When said father was lying in a hospital bed after being struck by lightning she was more concerned about getting money as opposed to comforting her obviously upset son
7) Degraded Blue when Blue confronted her about her faking a medical emergency at his probie ceremony in order to get said money
8) Also, the fact that Dixie even chose an event that was meant to center and celebrate her son as the place to cough up fake blood is disgusting. Damn, let Blue have his moment
9) Based on the few things we’ve heard about her old boyfriend Diggy, she might not have been bringing the best kind of guys around Blue
10) Does not call Blue by his name to his face hardly ever, she refers to him as ‘Boy’ most of the time
11) When Blythe had Blue’s backround check done by the private investigator one of his arrest was shoplifting from a grocery store when he was twelve. Even Blythe comments that he must of been hungry. I understand that times can be tough, however Dixie was being sent child support by Don/Blythe. Also, Blue is diabetic so him being able to eat is especially important.
12) Based on the characters constantly referring to the Don/Dixie thing as being 20 years ago, it sounds like Blue’s either 19 about to be 20 or 20 about to be 21, depending on if the 9 months of pregnancy are counted in those 20 years. I understand that Blue is an adult, but my guy is at the bar with one or both his parents in multiple episodes (so honestly bad on Don too). Like I’m aware most people drink under age, that’s not a crime against humanity or anything, but in front of your parents is a different thing (I’m not the fence about this one just because he doesn’t have a confirmed age yet)
13) Not to be rude but she named her child Blue after a music venue in Nashville. I understand it held sentimental value, but who names a whole ass human Blue.
14) As of last week’s episode we know that Dixie lied to Don about being on birth control and got pregnant with Blue on purpose to try and baby trap him, even though she knew he was still legally married. Going through a trial seperation sure, but still legally married with a whole other child by his wife. And Blue doesn’t know this yet, but I’m pretty sure he’s about to,
15) and finally the synopsis for this week’s episode mentions that Blue and Dixie will be butting heads over family loyalty. Miss ma’am you had Blue so that he could be a pawn, you used Blue as a pawn his entire life, from what little we know about his childhood you did not treat him right, you talk to him horribly, and you almost never call him by his name to his face. Sure Don has his issues, but he actively wants to be a father, and he defended you to his wife all the way up until he found out about the baby trapping. Also Blythe has been nothing but kind to Blue, and Ryan has come to accept that he has a brother. You do not get to try and ruin any piece of goodness that your son finds in his life. You had better proceed with caution in the next episode.
