I loved your response to the ask about getting into the character's mindset and internalising their voice, you also do that so well!
Apart from yourself, are there any other fic writers, Robron or otherwise, that you feel get character voices right? Let's spread some positivity!
hii thank you so much!! 🫶 I enjoyed thinking about it!! this is the ask if anybody is confused.
quick disclaimer: I don't think there's a right or wrong way to write the characters. everyone resonates with different voices.
this is such a lovely question!! my chance to hype people up tyyy 💛 sorry in advance this list will be way too long, in no particular order.. and probably incomplete, let's be real.
@aaronsugdens ellen's aaron voice is one of my faves. she also just wrote three alternative povs for fmi event and managed to make me emotional over diane sugden of all people
@bartonmatty clara recently destroyed me with her robert perspective which isn't an easy thing to do. in her writing, she manages to convey a feeling without announcing it and it's so incredibly special and lovely.
@sugdendeeznuts dom writes an incredible teen aaron voice which I am actually obsessed with, and you're just gonna have to trust me on that for now. if you've ever talked to her, you know that she has such a deep and interesting understanding of these characters
@jackiemerrick callie has such a way with descriptions and details that make a character feel real. there's always something haunting about her character writing that keeps me sooo hooked
@robrondale wren's ability to bottle a character's essence in only a couple of sentences is frankly unreal. Sometimes I will just read a paragraph over and over and just stare in awe.
@barnbert tanya has some of the funniest/gut wrenching dialogue in her fics Istg.
@stuckinanothertimezone ela has such a specific poetic voice in her writing, you can feel the characters' ache through the screen and it's just delicious. the way she uses imagery in her writing creates such a vivid picture of these characters.
@sebdingle percy has such a visceral writing style, I feel like I'm being attacked by the words but like in a good way. the john pov fic is forever imprinted on my brain.
@mellaithwen amy had me emotional over kyle recently. kyle. she has a way to set the scene from a character's perspective that paints a picture in your mind's eye. gorgeous.
@jcforsapphics jc has such a way to get into these characters' heads and write them in a way that feels so real to them. I can dive into their fics and never want to resurface.
@illbeyourreasonwhy lou has some of the most devastating lines of dialogues that just punch the breath out of me.
@donotpercievemebaby ash has the most devastating, aching, melancholy voice and it's just so delicious it makes you ache in the best way.
@capseycartwright it feels like lorna has a direct connection to aaron's and robert's minds. no matter the era, no matter the scenario, they always feel so real.
@dreamer-of-ships shazz has such a way to weave a witty, humorous dialogue in with an emotionally rich narrative and it makes me very happy.
I will stop myself there before I tag the entire fandom asdjskshs I have many more people in mind. ❤️
